Jesus Christ. Any Tiger fan at least 40 years old knows that Mississippi State's John Bond is the most deadly triple option quarterback in history.

fricker.

45 seconds left and to kick a FG they had to move the ball like 55 yards for a chance at around a 40 yard FG

It did not happen.
Sounds like you are upset that an actual call went against ND. Throughout history ND usually benefits
from the referees whistle or flags

Point is that there was 4 quarters of FB played before that play and ND and CU played to pretty much a draw.

If Colorado did not deserve to be champions don't you think ND would had beaten them already before that play

Pat White was not even the best option QB at WVU...that belongs to Major Harris.

Not the best, but a shoutout to Dee Dowis who was the best Academy option QB I ever saw.

As for Vick, they really never ran the option much at VT.

But hands down, easily Tommy Frazier

Cam Newton took an 8 win team to the promised land. And he accomplished more in 1 year than Tebow did as 3 years as a starter.

If tebow and cam are on this list, Mariota should be as well.

You don't get it, do you? Nobody is saying Nick Marshall is the best, but he absolutely deserves to be mentioned with others in this thread. Eric fricking Crouch.

Yeah. I get it. Just bc the OP incorrectly listed Eric Crouch, you feel Nick Marshall should be mentioned. So yes, I'll give you the win and agree. Both NM and EC should not be mentioned in this thread

Remember when Ell Roberson and Darren Sproles ran the option together in 2003? 5,800 yards rushing and passing and 57 tds between the two of them.

Cam is definitely in that top tier, and I think he's one of the biggest jabronis in the league. Being objective.

If Nick Marshall doesn't deserve to be mentioned then neither does Frazier or White, and sure as hell not the dude from Colorado.

If Marshall shouldn't be mentioned here then this conversation is basically Tebow and Newton and nobody else

What has Nebraska done since Crouch left at the end of the '01 season? One could argue that he was the last great power option QB in college football history. He scored 84 combined TDs in his four years as a starter.

You make good points. You really do. However, imo Frazier was a better option QB than Crouch.

And when I start make a list for the GOAT, I need to start cutting some limbs. And if you can't be the GOAT of your own university, you can't be in the All-Time discussion. EC was great, but Cam/Tebow/Frazier is the group being discussed....and that's not a fact, just my opinion

I don't disagree. I was merely defending my name dropping of him in my OP. Crouch can easily make the case for a Top 5 or Top 10 slot on a list of option QBs.
