Frazier ran the triple option. If you count his stats along with the stats of his option RBs, TBs, WBs, Frazier blows others out the window.

It's called option so you can't just can't count the stats of the QB.

Okay, well let's compare the 95 Nebraska offense to the 2013 Auburn offense. If you get to include all of Frazier's options then include all of Marshall's options as well. Almost all of Auburn's run plays were out of the read option.

Nebraska:
509.9 yards per game
71.3 plays per game
7.1 yards per play
366.5 rush yards per game
7.0 yards per rush
143.4 pass yards per game

Auburn:
501.4 yards per game
72.4 plays per game
6.9 yards per play
328.4 rush yards per game
6.3 yards per rush
173.0 pass yards per game

As far as individual rushing numbers,

Nebraska:
Ahman Green- 1086 yards, 13 TD
Tommie Frazier- 604 yards, 14 TD
Lawrence Phillips- 547 yards, 9 TD
Clinton Childs- 431 yards, 3 TD
Damon Benning- 407 yards, 4 TD
Jeff Mackovicka- 371 yards, 1 TD

Auburn:
Tre Mason- 1816 yards, 23 TD
Nick Marshall- 1068 yards, 12 TD
Corey Grant- 647 yards, 6 TD
Cameron Artis-Payne- 610 yards, 6 TD
Ricardo Louis- 198 yards

Nebraska not only had way more options for Frazier to use, but Ahman Green and Lawrence Phillips are in a whole nother league of talent from Tre Mason and Cameron Artis-Payne.

Not only that, Nebraska played against far far weaker defenses and their OL was relative to the completion more dominant than Auburn's.

Given the nearly identical total offensive outputs, considering the level of competition faced, and the talent of their supporting cast (since you brought up their options), I don't see how any objective person could possibly come to the conclusion that what Nick Marshall did in isn't more impressive than what Tommie Frazier did.

Marshall started at qb for 2 seasons right?

Post his stats for 2014, and post Frazier's 93 and 94 stats.

Yes everyone is sure about how overrated and slow the Big 8 is

Didn't Texas prove this already
They made Nebraska their bitch pretty much first year in the Big 8

You realize that Nebraska recruited nationally, and went toe to toe with the Florida schools.

This was waaaaay before the sec started dominating. Nebraska also came back and destroyed Texas a&m in the 97 big 12 champ game.

The big 8 was legit.... did you forget your beloved 1991 Colorado team was in the big8

I'm absolutely positive that the likes of Bama and LSU and other SEC defenses in 2013 are better than the mid 90s Big 8 defense of Iowa State, Kansas, and Missouri

That's not even up for debate

Half of the Big 8 finished 1995 in the top 10. And none of them was OU.

I know Florida turned the ball over and made some
mistakes

I will give Nebraska their credit with mental toughness and discipline but to say they matched up athletically with Florida is a stretch

The 1995 Big 8 has nothing on the 2010 SEC.

ETA: I derped hard here. Overlook this post.

Between this thread and the other one you make some of the most asinine statements ever.

What is asinine to one could be intelligent to another
Just matters what side of the fence you are on
Even if you are the only one on your side of the fence

A. We are talking 2013 SEC

B. And apparently it did. 4 top 10 teams. Big 8 champ beats SEC champ by 38.

They lost by 38 points.

That game was 55-19 before 55-19

Did you actually watch the game or are you just going by the score

I have seen 40-17 games much closer in talent between two teams than some 21-17 games

I watched the 1st quarter but neither of my parents like either team and I remember going out to dinner and coming back in the fourth and it being a blow out and I was surprise because from what I saw early it was going to be a close game

I was only 12 and my ability to analyze football games is no where close to it is now though

What does that have to do with the 2013 SEC?

That's great that they finished ranked high, but the level of talent on their defenses still didn't hold a candle to the modern SEC.

How about the other half of the Big 8 that didn't inflate their record on the other shitty half?

You had Oklahoma at .500 and the rest of the conference with 8 losses each

ETA:

And btw the 2013 SEC also had 4 teams finish ranked in the final top 10, and 7 teams finish in the final top 25

ETA2:

5 teams with 10 or more wins. 7 teams with 9 or more wins

2013 SEC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>x infinity>>>>>>>>>>>> 1995 Big 8

Yes every minute of it. Close first quarter, and Nebraska destroyed them in the second quarter, second half was a snoozer.

Played out the same way as 55-19.

I'm not sure on what planet you would say 62-24 is a deceptive score. I'm pretty sure Nebraska had around 500 rushing yards also.
