Oh. Don't be one of those guys. You're suggesting Cam wasn't DOMINATING college football all season and a missed holding call is what made all of the difference. Yeah, Cam sucks bc of a holding call. Forget breaking 6 tackles and carrying PatPete for a score when it counted.

Did I use the correct verb tense mr. professor?

Nick Marshall doesn't need to be on that list, IMO.

Why the hell not?

Like TTs said, I've never seen any QB run a read option better and more efficiently than Marshall did in 2013.

Statistically he's better than Frazier.

In Nick Marshall's 2 seasons at AU:

Passing- 4508 yards, 34 TD, 13 INT, 60.2%

Rushing- 1866 yards, 5.7 ypc, 23 TD

You and I both know it's 2 separate styles of offense so the stats mean nothing. Also different philosophies so Marshall had more plays due to offense.

But Frazier ran 4 different styles of the option and improved passing.

So I guess using just stats we can say that Jimmy Klingler was better than Marino since he threw for more yards in college?

Tommie Frazier is tGOAT, but Nick Marshall is underrated. His read option was a thing of beauty and he was slippery as hell once running

Go ahead, tell us why Nick Marshall shouldn't be listed.

Again, I'm not saying he's the best.

Tommie Frazier has the best resume...

But the best I ever saw was...

Jamelle Holieway...

He was so good, he led OU to the national title despite the fact that he couldn't throw worth a damn. But running he was so elusive and quick. Far better runner than Frazier (who was a better passer).

You are willing to put Marshall ahead of

Frazier
Holieway
Cam
Tebow
Mildren
White
Vince Young
Charlie Ward
McReynolds

I'm not saying he's not a good QB but he's not in that same tier as the above players. Marshall just is not a guy who is deserving of that accolade.

Bc he is not the greatest and the question was who is the greatest

Oh, you do get it. You answered your own question.

Still career below 50% passing

Marshall is actually one of the best passers mentioned in this thread yet

Frazier played on probably the most dominant cfb team of all-time behind one of the most dominant OLs in CFB history. He also had a 4× Pro Bowler in Ahman Green and Lawrence Phillips who is considered one of the most talented RBs in CFB history to work with in Lawrence Phillips.

You argue Marshall's offense helps him statistically, but Frazier's supporting cast helped him even more.

There is no arguing that Marshall is a better passer. Frazier and Marshall both had 5.7 ypc on their career so we'll call it a draw in running the ball.
As for actually running the option itself, Marshall gets the nod there as well because it seemed he rarely ever made the wrong decision

Is Trent Richardson a better RB than Walter Payton or even a Danny Woodhead just because Richardson played on a better college team?

Dude, find one person that followed college football for the last three decades that would ever have Nick Marshall ranked ahead of Tommy Frazier as great option QB and I'll show you a die hard auburn fan

There is no one alive who gets paid to report/follow college football that would ever have Marshall and Frazier in the same sentence

Would you Say Marshall is better than Darian Hagan?

I mean Hagan had better arm and was a guy that went for 1000 and 1000

Only 5th guy to do it at that time and won a NC

Steve Taylor never gets credit. He threw for 5 TD vs ucla once. He didn't have the great IB that Frazier had. He was NU offense. If he'd be around for the "We Backs" NU may win another NC

Big 8 in that time frame was loaded 4 top 10 teams, NU OU oSu and CU
