re: I've had my surround sound system since 2022, is it time for an upgrade?

Instead of thinking “how quickly can I replace this” start thinking “how long can I keep this?”
It’s much cooler to say “I got this 20 years ago and it still works well” than “I got this last week.”

I saw Gage pitch 5 innings for the Phillies AA team last night. Hoping they don’t trade him.

DeSantis does it again

I’m guessing it’s because in those situations we want to be prepared to act fast in self-defense. Most people are right handed, so when taking a left turn your right arm is in a position of strength.

What a travesty destroying a beautiful ‘96 Blazer.

The stadium naming was an opportunity to bring in a new money pocket who wouldn’t otherwise be giving to the University.

Largest credit union in the area. Seems about right.

Tall doesn’t mean “big.” There are plenty of 6’7 4th year bruisers who would eat our “bigs” lunch.

I think it’s mostly rooted in the idea that an individual judge doesn’t control the game at the end of the day - schools can do things like refuse to play certain schools if the rules aren’t being followed. I think that’s it’s Texas Tech, maybe the team most advancing itself from where it was under this new era, adds fuel to the fire.

If he was that good he would have played last year.

Blockchain payment networks such as Polygon can process payments for fractions of a cent. By using stablecoins, customers and merchants can transact digitally without the price volatility often associated with cryptocurrencies. Modern payment platforms handle the blockchain technology in the background, allowing users to pay with a simple app, QR code, or wallet just as easily as using a credit card. The result is faster settlement, dramatically lower processing costs, and a simple payment experience.
Think of what color the genie was in the original Aladdin animated movie

You probably were thinking of a color like this:
What if I told you it was actually more like this, would you believe me?
Well…

He hasn’t started a game all year, and what’s the most we can realistically expect out of him, 4 innings? Rather keep him in the role he’s used to, coming out of the pen in a high leverage spot. If you have to bring him in in the third inning fine.

Need to pound NEstern and not use any top arms to have them for night cap.
Remember when McGuire threw 5 scoreless innings against TCU in February? I don’t feel like hoping him to do something like that against Northeastern is asking for a miracle. If he can do that and we can get a 5+ run lead, allowing us to save arms for the next two games, we have a fighter’s chance to win this regional.
DeSantis would prefer ZERO Chinese students
Posted by Jon Ham on 5/15/26 at 11:59 am
Governor Ron DeSantis views Chinese students, particularly those engaged in graduate research, as a major national security risk and potential vector for Chinese Communist Party (CCP) espionage. His administration has actively implemented stringent policies to restrict their presence, hiring, and influence in Florida's educational institutions.
He signed a 2023 law (SB 846) prohibiting public universities in Florida from partnering with entities in China and six other "countries of concern". This effectively blocks faculty from hiring Chinese graduate students and postdocs as research assistants, a move that is currently facing legal challenges in federal court.
K-12 School Choice Restrictions: DeSantis directed the Florida Department of Education to pull state scholarship funding from private schools suspected of having direct ties to the CCP, citing threats to student welfare and indoctrination concerns.
H-1B Visa Crackdowns: He directed the Florida Board of Governors to halt the use of H-1B visas at state universities, following audits that claimed Chinese individuals were brought in to discuss public policy with students.
At the national level, DeSantis has explicitly opposed proposals to expand the number of Chinese students studying in the U.S., stating he would "rather have none" because of the perceived risks of intellectual property theft and espionage.
