Governor Ron DeSantis views Chinese students, particularly those engaged in graduate research, as a major national security risk and potential vector for Chinese Communist Party (CCP) espionage. His administration has actively implemented stringent policies to restrict their presence, hiring, and influence in Florida's educational institutions.

He signed a 2023 law (SB 846) prohibiting public universities in Florida from partnering with entities in China and six other "countries of concern". This effectively blocks faculty from hiring Chinese graduate students and postdocs as research assistants, a move that is currently facing legal challenges in federal court.

K-12 School Choice Restrictions: DeSantis directed the Florida Department of Education to pull state scholarship funding from private schools suspected of having direct ties to the CCP, citing threats to student welfare and indoctrination concerns.

H-1B Visa Crackdowns: He directed the Florida Board of Governors to halt the use of H-1B visas at state universities, following audits that claimed Chinese individuals were brought in to discuss public policy with students.

At the national level, DeSantis has explicitly opposed proposals to expand the number of Chinese students studying in the U.S., stating he would "rather have none" because of the perceived risks of intellectual property theft and espionage.

I needed glasses within 48 hours, didn’t even have a prescription. I was able to book a same day appointment for one of the places that do remote eye exams. I ordered glasses from a site that delivers within 24 hours and got them the next day. One of the greatest advancements in our daily lives to be able to do that versus old way of booking an appointment weeks/months in advance, then waiting on your prescription glasses for days once selected.
When I was 11 years old I had to tell my friend Clint Stoerner fumbled the ball away to Tennessee.
What makes his ceiling higher than Brazile? Genuinely curious. Does he have the handles/passing that would allow him to be a point-forward?
Mikka is basically a Trevon clone. A very nice piece to have, as long as we can pair him with a couple true power bigs.

Looks like a less athletic version of Trevon Brazile without the 3 point shot.

Brazile’s 3 point shooting this season was just good enough to give him the green light but not good enough to where anyone felt good about him taking those shots.
What it comes to 6’10”+ centers, there’s just not a wide range of impact potential among the guys who are athletic enough to throw down lobs, not get bullied in the paint, and can block shots. Only if you are a unicorn type that adds three point shooting or is a Shaq-like monster do you really separate yourself into a clear “next tier.” I get not paying $4M for a non-unicorn when you can get 90% of the same impact from a $1M guy.
I would sue them, refuse any settlement offer less than $10M, and ask a jury to make an example of them, which they almost certainly would. Sucks that such a process would take at least a couple years, but such is war.

Frozen corn to lower the temp.

False. Apollo 8 in 1968 did it first.
While JD is trying hard to convince us how religious he is (this book, “aliens” are demons), Ron continues to get it done. I’d suggest this for a better reading experience:

Where did the pitching go this series? Florida roughed up almost every pitcher. Something feels off about that. If it happens again next series then I’ll be really concerned.
Ewin is 3-4 from 3PT. Maybe we will see him try to make one early to pull out the 7-2 dude.
A milligram of antimatter meeting a milligram of matter would release as much energy as a small nuclear explosion.

I’m glad these scientists had fun though.

On the second one, both players were behind the three point line when the pass was made.
