Posting this for McCaigBro since he doesn’t have the benefit of DRT.

So long Ryan family.

Just saw that the Skeeters are the néw AAA club for the Astros. That’s intriguing. Maybe get to see Alvarez with some rehab starts and of course Correa doing the same mid-season...or will they continue to use corpus AA ?

The rule 5 draft was today, Astros did not take anyone in the big league portion, but the Angels took Jose Alberto Rivera who is our 14th rated prospect.

The Astros took two guys in the Triple A phase, Joe Record (Twins) and Seth Martinez (A's)

IDK what any of it means because IDK anything about the players, but nice to see some sort of transactions

Honestly expected a lot more action this week from the virtual winter meetings but hopefully we start to see more stuff in the news

Better than the transaction we will see when the Mets sign Springer.

From the twitters:

This quote from James Click sounds like an extension for @TeamCJCorrea is coming: "We're trying to win in 2021. We're trying to win in '22 and '23 and beyond. And having a guy like Carlos Correa at shortstop makes it a lot easier to win.”

I hope so. Dude went from soft and selfish to the heart and soul of the damn team in the span of a few months.

Ain't 2020 some shite?

This. If the Carlos Correa frick ALL OF YOU tour continues, he's going to be worth every penny.

@JeffPassan
Free agent outfielder David Dahl and the Texas Rangers are in agreement on a one-year deal for around $3 million, sources familiar with the agreement tell ESPN.

I feel this has been the quietest offseason in a long long time, not even for the Astros but for everyone.

In a class of his own atop the free agent reliever market, Liam Hendriks is unsurprisingly drawing widespread interest. The White Sox, Mets and Blue Jays have been tied to Hendriks within the past week, and Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Dodgers and Astros have joined them among those pursuing the right-hander. Hendriks is looking for a four-year deal, Passan adds.

Agreed. The A's were ate up with the we wuz robbed mindset and then got knocked out by our worst team in 6 years. Naturally Hendriks will end up with the Dodgers because they've got endless money along with the ability to shite out top prospects every year.

I thought someone may have mentioned that JV says he will pitch in 2021

Could be very significant come playoff time and/or influence the way Click approaches things during this offseason

I just don’t see this happening. Too much risk in a contract year.

Ehhh. Hes gonna be 39 and coming off TJ going into 2022. Nobody is investing much in him given that combination of unknowns. If he pitches a handful of starts and shows that he's still got something in the tank, it should boost his value.
