re: Got in my first altercation, was I wrong?

I don’t understand why slow play doesn’t have a fee. I’d offer a fast play discount that I you get refunded after a round if you maintained pace if play. I’d have AI monitor the speed of each group based on find cart data or a caryable token for walkers. Call them when AI tells you someone has fallen more than X minutes behind and tell them they are at risk of losing their fast pace discount.

re: Trump is ready to put drug dealers on death row

I’d legalize it, regulate it like pharma, and then also make living in public illegal. So if you can do drugs and function then great, but if you can’t then being a panhandling homeless person is not a fallback plan. I’d also get way tougher on drug and alcohol contributing to crimes like DUI.

Pretty sure they used to build bombs or rockets there. Had a buddy with a timber land hunting lease and it felt like going back in time when we drove through

Proven what? I agree he used tariffs as leverage on several countries to get them to do their part in our national security on shared borders. You completely ignore the discussion on reciprocal tariffs EO and pretend that those 3 examples are the only tariffs in play. You further have disingenuous discussions about him and his record of not starting new wars. Now you want to debate that he’s only appealing to people based on prejudice when in fact he had higher percentages of Hispanic and black voters than any republican in history. He’s staunchly pro-American and fighting against these other institutions who have been tearing down America. If that makes him a demagogue by your definition then so be it.

Ok. I thought you were capable of rational discussion but you only choose to discuss aspects that support your points and ignore others that dispute them. You should consider listening to an opposing viewpoint and considering it instead of focusing only on an aspect you disagree with.

Yes. Thanks for being honest. He's using tariffs as a weapon, not simply as "reciprocity."
So you just skipped the rest of my post? What are your thoughts on him not starting any wars and ending wars that others started? Is that good?

He’s threatened tariffs on Mexico and Canada to get them to help with border security. He threatened tariffs on Colombia for refusing the illegals. Neither were enacted because the countries complied with demands.
He signed a separate reciprocal tariff executive order I think that goes into effect in April that basically says we will increase our tariffs to match those of other countries on our imports, so this gives them the opportunity to lower theirs.
Also, it’s ironic that you use “weapons” to describe the actions of the least violent President in a long time.

Post your examples of government wasting your money here

Thought this might help some of our left-leaning folks understand why our bloated federal government needs a major overhauls. I’ll start.
I have a business that ships products all over the USA and Canada. I almost exclusively ship through private carriers but I have a customer in BFE Alaska who requires me to ship UNited States postal service. Why? Because their service is about 1/3 the cost of private and gets there faster. So the USPS basically offers a rate that is not competitive in the free market, and more than likely they are losing money on every shipment. So basically the taxpayers are paying for this for-profit company to have lower expenditures than they should. It’s literally a gold mining company taking money from each of us every time they ship stuff to their facility.

“Weapon” or bargaining tactic? None of the tariffs have gone into effect. The dude is a businessman, and wants trade, but wants fair trade. If they lower their tariffs on US import then we will match. The problem is that no matter what he does, people will find a reason not to like it. Just yesterday there was paranoia about more pandemics and the inability of the government to respond because of DOGE. He could come out tomorrow and announce no taxes for the first $100k of income and people would complain. It’s unreal.

You don’t know that he believes that. He’s a deal maker, and the reciprocal tariffs are more than likely intended to reduce tariffs on exports moreso than increase tariff revenue. He’s highlighting a major problem with the USA through everything he is doing which is that Americans are paying an imbalanced share of almost everyone in the world’s economic gain. Whether it’s all the nonsense our federal government doles out or tariffs imposed, or the complete absence of defense spending by allies who hide behind big brother America. He’s shining a light on all of it and people are mad and they have a right to be. The federal government is a bloated, inefficient, dated piece of money guzzling garbage that employs the laziest and most complacent people in our ranks, and has grown way beyond what it was designed to be from politicians making bad decision after bad decision for decades. This is the reckoning we have all wanted.

Yep. The pussies won in 2020 and the transgender nonsense was one of those consequences. Thankfully the non-pussies won in 24 and we are back. Hopefully Canada follows suit.

Thanks for pointing that out. I was reading this and guessing fhe folks here hadn’t seen it and didn’t get the throwback to that episode. I didn’t watch it but will go watch the stuff that everyone liked. I heard that nirvana was excellent.
re: Why isn’t this board upset about Elons contract with the military?
Posted by Big L on 2/13/25 at 10:00 am
Actual contracts between the government and known private organizations where there is a reasonable exchange of goods and services is not an issue. It’s all the hidden acronym NGOs and other benefactors through lesser known and off the radar fed departments for a bunch of nonsense is what everyone is mad about. If space X is sending sushi to the space station then we can get pissed. In all seriousness, all those contracts should be audited and obviously Elon should recuse himself from being involved in those.

re: You can’t help but pull for Hurts

It’s nice to see a team win that doesn’t rely on a Superman QB. Hurts is good but he’s got a great running game and defenses. Football should be like this…not like the Bills or ravens or bengals.

That Josh Allen QB sneak where he clearly got to the line to gain and they called him short was one of the biggest screw jobs I’ve ever seen. If the bills convert there I think they win by 10. It’s been amazing how friendly the officials were to the chiefs this year. It’s incredibly well documented too.
