Bottom line saying 1 year contracts for Diaz, Correa, and LMJ, which I suppose is common knowledge

Cubs just non-tendered Schwarber

Put him at first base where he belongs and move Yuli to LF. Then you just need a CF.

Our defense would be some kind of suck but all your home runs are belong to us.

Real talk, after watching Yuli bail out Altuve in the playoffs, I'm not inclined to move him off 1st base. His defense is seriously underrated.

Yeah, Yuli doesn't get the credit he deserves defensively

If you buy into some of the advanced fielding stats, which are certainly flawed, they don’t rate Schwarber as that bad in LF. It’s definitely not good though and a step down from Brantley. There’s plenty of different options for the OF after the non tenders

Is there any news with Brantley? I’ve admittedly been avoiding Twitter for my mental health.

I haven’t seen anything more since the report they were trying to work out a deal with him and he is apparently interested in returning

I get what y'all are saying but Schwarber has been blocked in Chicago from playing 1B. He apparently had a decent glove as a catcher and was passable as an athlete in LF as mentioned.

He could blossom as a 1B. If Choi can do it, he can.

This isn't against Yuli. It's about finding the best value for the lineup, and we could use more power to replace George's pop.

Not sure how Yuli grades out at 1B but I’m not big on moving him either. Schwarbs is an intriguing player though.

Remember when Carlos Lee screwed up Myers' streak of quality starts?

I 'member.

Y'all want some off season tidbits? Some free agent chatter? Here.

Free agent Jason Castro is one example of a player garnering interest from clubs looking for an everyday or platoon catcher. The #Rangers and #Astros are among the teams engaged on him, in addition to other catchers.

I don’t see that happening, but if my only backup option is the goon we had this past year, Castro is better

And Castro was my whipping boy way before Tyler and Reddick. LOL

I actually met him and his wife in Isla. He was rehabbing his knee. He had sunglasses on and I didn’t recognize him. Asked where they were from and they said Houston.

I said I was born there. Big Astros fan. Loved the 2017 WS. They looked at each other and smiled. I said, oh yall Dodgers fans. They said yes. I said you from CA. He said Yes.

30 minutes later, another guy in our group asks him what he does for a living. He says baseball. I jumped out my beach chair and introduced him to the group as the Astros 1st round pick that played 6 years in Houston.

I saved him from hearing about his plate production and complimented his defensive skills. LOL

Nice guy, beautiful family

I’d rather have Reddick be the back up catcher than Castro.

With Sneed gone, I needed a replacement in order to be able to properly utilize this gif.

I can’t think of a more worthy successor than Jason Castro...
