re: Can Joe break this trend: last 16 quarterbacks to lose first Super Bowl

It’s hard to get to one Super Bowl, better yet multiple ones. That list is a whole lot of meh and Joe has shown to be an upper tier if not top 5 qb in the league so far.
I feel it’s likely he gets to another one but you never really know.
Also people make way too much of a big deal about once he gets paid, they’ll struggle to be elite. If he’s as good as many think, they’ll be fine.
Those mega contracts kill teams with QBs like Dak, Kirk, Kyler, etc.

Bengals need to create more sacks on defense. Only 30th in league, I believe.
They obviously need a healthy O line as well.

I am not a Zac Taylor fan.. I feel like his play calling holds them back sometimes. I think the team wins in spite of him. Maybe I am wrong though..

They have another solid 3 year window:
2023 - 43.7mil cap
FA: Bates, Bell, Apple, Flowers, Pratt, Hurst, Scharping
- Easily can upgrade/re-sign their guys without breaking the bank
2024: bigger issue
FA: Boyd, Higgins, Williams, Awuzie, Wilson
2025: really gonna pay to play
FA: Hendrickson, Hilton, Hill, Collins, Mixon, Sample, Ossai, McPherson,
Until they have to pay Burrow + Chase on their 2nd deal, they can push all in like KC had done. But damn they better hit the draft to keep it rolling.

I'm not some Burrow diehard or anything, but the only 2 on that list that are even close to him are McNabb and McNair. Rest of that group is just average. If the Bengals ever figure out a healthy offensive line Burrow will be back, especially with the plethora of weapons they have.

Hurts is about to be added to this growing list.

He will win multiple. Look at the QBs listed. None of them are comparable to Burrow.
Burrow is elite and is right there with Mahomes, but winning a Superbowl is hard. I thought Rodgers and Brees were locks to win multiple. Favre has one. Manning had to jump ship very late in his career to a loaded team to grab his second. Mahomes has been to five straight (!!!) AFC title games and he might walk away this season with only one still. How long can the Chiefs sustain the success? Not to mention all the great QBs pre 2000s who never won a ring.
He very well might have two rings some day....but let's see if the Bengals can keep this going so Burrow can have a shot at his first.

Maybe. But the last couple of years the Bengals have benefited from a very weak AFC North. Steelers maybe have found a replacement for Ben, but maybe not. Ravens made the playoffs but they are just not the same without a healthy Lamar. And Browns always do Browns things. If the Steelers and/or Ravens get back to their typical form(s) then it won't be a guarantee that the Bengals even get to the playoffs.

It seems like Lamar and the Ravens are heading for a divorce, so the Ravens are a big question mark.
Pickett showed some promise but has a ways to go.
And yes the browns are the browns.
Joe is far and away the best qb in that division.
Until further notice they should win that division or make the wild card may more often than not.

How many of those guys on that list went back to the Conference Championship game the next year after losing the Super Bowl?
With that being said, I think Burrow will win a few Super Bowls before it's all said and done.

We are talking about making it to the Super Bowl ITT. In the last 25 years, there are only two quarterbacks to make it to the Superbowl 3 times in a 4 year time span.
Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady

I’d suggest you learn how to spell Burrow correctly before you start spewing dumbass butthurt comments about him

I think the only QBs to ever start their first Super Bowl and lose but later win a Super Bowl are Len Dawson, Bob Griese, and John Elway

I was thinking about Marino after the game on Sunday. Made it to the 84 SB after that historic year, lost to the 49ers.
In the 85 season the Dolphins gave the 85 Bears their only loss of the season, but they laid an egg against the Pats in the AFC CG to prevent the rematch in the SB. Never made it back.
Hopefully Joe can break the trend but I said it after the SB last year it's not easy to make it back let alone win one. That was their best chance and he may not get another crack at it as nothing's given. I hope he can get one some day so long as my Saints (fat chance
) aren't the victim

The only qbs to start more than 1 Super Bowl are Brady, Elway, Bradshaw, Montana, Brothers manning, Staubach, Jim Kelly, Aikman, Griese, Rothlisberger, Tarkenton, Warner, Plunkett, Dawson, Starr, Thiesmann, Farve, Wilson, Mahomes, and Craig Morton
