Currently about 18% of our our take home pay which includes escrow.
We bought in 2023 at probably peak sellers market and high rates.
Was probably closer to 25-27% as we’ve refinanced last month down a whole percentage point and our income is steadily going up each year as well.

re: So, is it kinda true the SEC was cheating way more than anyone else pre NIL?

As others said, it’s NIL and the transfer portal.
Majority of great football prospects are in the Deep South. When it was under the table paying, it was easier to just stay home bc the money up north probably wasn’t much better.
Now, it’s basically unlimited so highest bidder may very well be way into 7 figures, far cry from a brown paper bag full, charger, and an apartment. That’s the NIL part.
The unlimited transfer portal part keeps teams from having high end starters on the 2-3 deep.
That talent is now spread out and are going to schools that can pay while also allowing them to play immediately.
If you ever see the portal and or NIL reigned again, I fully expect sec dominance to reappear very quickly.

07 Florida would probably be a favorite over most teams on that list.
Yea they lost 5 games but that was a team that was just going through the motions in January and February. When March came around, they cut through the field like a hot knife through butter.
18 Villanova was a wagon. They were elite in basically every facet.

Obligatory, Hugh Grant cheated on her by getting a BJ from an ugly prostitute.

Only way this makes sense is if Donovan said no.
I know the portal opens tomorrow and Donovan himself wasn’t talking about his next move until after the bulls season concludes next week. You have to wait on Donovan if his agent feels he’ll take it.
Lime I said maybe Unc got different intel.

Donovan at a blue blood should work.
UNC will pour NIL money into its men’s basketball program.
They’re probably tired of watching Duke get every big time recruit they want.

She’s a great coach but she just might be my least liked coach in sports right now.
For a women’s basketball coach, that’s saying something lol.
They are getting absolutely cooked and it’s beautiful to watch.

re: UCONN men’s basketball strange dominance.

Kansas basketball and Michigan football are eerily similar.
Basically each the first to make the sport big and take it seriously.
Have always won a ton of games but don’t have near the most championships that the other blue bloods do.
Also each have a recent one.

They’re a win on Monday night away from being alone in 3rd place for championships at 7 only trailing UCLA and Kentucky.
Duke’s first title was only 8 years before UConn’s, why is UConn being a blue blood such a controversial take for some?

2 incredibly unlikable ppl.
Great coaches but that’s about it.
Geno really isn’t the person that should be calling the kettle black but glad someone is calling dawn out for her teams BS they constantly get away with.
That said, SCAR physically dominated UCONN.

I’m gonna assume this must mean Self’s health is in a better place, which if so, good for him.
Schools around the country rejoice since there’s only one blue blood shopping instead of 2.

re: Whats the craziest "almost shite my pants" story you got?
Posted by LSUbub12 on 3/31/26 at 3:11 pm to crimsoncoded94
I crapped my pants walking back to our hotel room at Coronado Springs resort at Disney World.
This resort is huge and it took a 10-15 minute walk to get to our room from front.
Halfway through it hits me a thunderous force and I begin the fast pace penguin walk while clenching for dear life. We’re on second floor but stairwell is closer and quicker than elevator. The walk up the stairs got me, and I crapped myself opening the door. Crapped, showered, and then walked the trash bag with my crapped briefs to the trash chute.

2006 by default bc only one I was alive for lol.
But man, we physically beat the hell out of Duke in the Sweet 16.
Everybody remembers GT suffocating JJ but big baby and tyrus made dukes AA big Sheldon Williams look like a JV player. That number one overall seed Duke team was so athletically inferior to LSU that night.
Big Baby’s 3 against Texas to ice the Elite 8 game will also always be remembered.

Wisconsin just had to lay an egg against Duke in the final.
Screw the NCAA for matching UK/WISC in the final 4. I think Wisconsin was the one team that actually matched up well with UK. I don’t think Duke would’ve beaten UK.
Wisconsin may have not emotionally recovered before the championship game.

re: Why the abject hatred for Duke basketball?
Posted by LSUbub12 on 3/31/26 at 11:09 am to grizzlylongcut
Duke has been hated by the masses for nearly 40 years. This isn’t some new trend tbh. If anything, the hate has probably gone down just a bit since K isn’t the coach anymore. Similar to Bama without Saban.
The apex of Duke hating was no doubt the 90’s starting with Laettner and company and going through those wimpy white guards they always had that slapped the court like a bunch of douches lol

I’ve always said this format is one of the worst ways to crown a champion but darnit, it’s far and away the most entertaining and enjoyable.
You have to win 6 straight do or die games and in theory your opponent gets tougher each subsequent round.
Feels like college basketball is the sport you remember the great teams who didn’t win it all, the most.

I hate Duke just as much as the next guy but Scheyer is a good coach who is doing a great job following a legend, which is never easy to do.
Yea, his teams have had some bad collapses but these happen to the best of the best in this sport sometimes.
It took Dean Smith 21 years before he won the big one, and heck he “only” won it twice in 37 years.
It historically has taken college basketball coaches a long time before they finally win the big one.
That said I hope Duke never gets it again, but Scheyer is bound to win one eventually if he keeps assembling rosters like this.

It’s been mentioned but 83 NC State might be number one.
Watch the 30 for 30 Survive and Advance.
That whole run was absolutely incredible.
Trey Burkes shot against Kansas in 13 deserves a mention.

It seems like every 3rd person in Evangeline and St. Landry parish is a Fontenot and just about every person has Fontenot blood in them.
I had a class at LSUE with around 60 ppl in it.
We had 9 Fontenot’s and only 2 were knowingly 3rd cousins or closer.

It’s also an elite, small, private university that most ppl can’t get into or afford.
So 99% of Duke fans are bandwagon fans with no affiliation to the university.
I believe most ppl in North Carolina are more fans of nc state and UNC.
Then, of course it’s media love they get when Duke basketball is as dirty as they get but the media covers them as saints.

Too much smoke about Self retiring, think it’s inevitable.
2 premier blue blood openings will cause the coaching salary market to adjust.
It actually sounds like UNC will do a true job search.
