Brewers didn’t celebrate hard enough?

Twitter is melting down today because the Brewers apparently weren’t sufficiently crazy after they won the World Series. The catcher just walked up and shook the pitcher’s hand and … Gasp! Horrors! … they didn’t do a team dogpile on the pitcher’s mound. In this era of social media exhibitionism, I found it refreshing. In 1965 after he threw a 3-hit shutout on two days’ rest in Game 7, Sandy Koufax simply shook his catcher’s hand and walked off the field.

Thoughts?

In 1965 the catcher probably had to leave the field to go work the night shift at the local factory.

Because 90% of his salary was deferred over the next 20 years

I personally thought it was weird.

But that was only like the first couple of minutes. That celebrated just fine after that

I bet the Brewer fans will show up big time for the parade tomorrow, temps in the mid 50's, not too bad for Milwaukee in late October.

Some of the stats they keep in baseball is crazy.
First player to steal 2nd base in World Series history with 2 different colored socks.
First batter in World Series history to get a base hit when his sister was in attendance and sitting behind home plate. .

If they did a dogpile then people would bitch about players willingly hurting one another. It's a lose-lose to acknowledge those sickos.

When has an MLB team ever dogpiled?

People are becoming dumber by the day

Brewers blew them out, not a competitive series....

plus on the road, it makes a difference.

If they were at home I think it would have been different, but I respect it. Business trip completed. We’ll celebrate when we get home.

Right. So not dogpiling is what 119 other WS champs have done

Funny, because I went back and watched and I find all the backlash (not calling out you specifically) weird. Most of the dugout (the players) and bullpen ran in and they all were hugging / jumping / pushing each other. You saw a bunch of the fielders screaming / jumping / ecstatic when they did the replays of the individuals at the exact moment of victory. A couple guys (Contreras and Chourio) fell to their knees for a moment; Chourio was clearly ecstatic though after getting up, Contreras maybe a bit more subdued but obviously happy.

I mean, they didn’t dogpile (no MLB team does), and I guess the coaching staff was kinda subdued for winning, sort of? But generally I thought the celebration was mostly par for the course. Find all the social media talk about it kinda strange, especially for a game 5 that didn’t really come down to the wire.

Well this is completely false, I have the newspaper from when the Cardinals won it in 2011 and they are dogpiling or is that AI?
