AncientTiger, how do you go about doing your research? Where do you start; what do you look for? What are the main factors you use to make your choices?

How do you go about purchasing these OTC stocks on ETrade?

The same way you buy any other stock. I bought shares yesterday through ETrade and was charged a $4.99 commission.

In, thanks.
Picked up some at .17
Seems like TOS won't let me buy OTC when markets are closed.
How is this for other platforms?

I use etrade and don't pay commission.. Maybe different type of account..? Regardless, my point is if you're paying commission you need to change something.

Etrade charges $6.95 for OTC stock trades unless you make at least 30 trades a quarter, at which point they charge $4.95. I'm not aware of any way around this, but if you know of one, I'd be interested to hear more.

I don't pay commission on Etrade for OTC stocks. There is a fee for options though.

How does one get around that? I didn't see any exceptions listed in their fee schedule.

I used to pay commission a few years ago. It seems they just kind of went away when all of the other services started advertising commission free trading. I do make a lot of trades so it may be that too...?
