wtf

Lawrence is light years ahead of where Burrow was at 20years old.

And that matters why? Players who get drafted at 21, play 3 years in the NFL having shitty seasons and get benched all the time, they don’t say “well he’s only 24” no they look at what he’s done on the field because that’s where development happens.

You are losing sight about what this conversation is about.

Best prospect.

To be compared in a vacuum coming of out college.

It matters because when Trevor Lawrence Is at the advanced age of 23, he has the capabilities to be better than joe burrow based on where they both were as 20yrs.

And that isn’t even diving into specifics regarding physical attributes, where Lawrence measures better across the board.

I’m not sure what is hard to understand.

What they do as pros is irrelevant, especially in this instance when it is a made up hypothetical.

You can say Lawrence was better younger

But you can’t say he was better

He didn’t make some huge improvement this year from his freshmen your. What if he’s the same his junior year?

So what’s his ceiling? What if it’s 30 TDS in the ACC?

No I’m not. I’m telling you that the player that just had the greatest college football season of all time by a long shot and then #1 overall to a team that was offered the world for their pick because of how good of a prospect he is, is the best prospect and him being 23 doesn’t have anything to fricking do with it.

But I can say with all my conviction that he is a better prospect.

I think you need to recalibrate what you want to argue.

Do you really believe joe burrow is the best QB prospect ever?

To truly appreciate Burrow’s exceptional talent and prospect in the NFL, just look back at the single season completion percentage record, TD’s, and INT’s in college of greats like John Elway, Payton Manning, and Dan Marino, all who were extremely prolific passers in the NFL. After doing so, to suggest Joe Burrow is the greatest QB prospect ever to come out of college doesn’t really sound like hype.

Obviously I'm a Burrow guy, but if Lawrence would have been eligble this year, he would have gone 1.

I still don’t get the “love fest” for Sunshine Trevor Lawrence. The guy had to play against maybe 2 good defenses each year? That kid is going to get crushed in the NFL. I don’t think he has the physical toughness to make it.

Joe was not only physically tough, but he was mentally way ahead of of his peers this year. Sure, he may not run as well as Trevor or Tua, but he could take a vicious hit and get back up and torch a defense.

As for All-Time best QB prospect, it would be between Joe and Andrew Luck for me.

Bengals made sure they lost every game to get him.

Meanwhile, i remember people here mocking Borrow returning for his Senior year. “Yeah of course he’s coming back he won’t even be drafted”.

When some downplay Burrows record and point to the elite receivers that Marino, Elway and Luck didn’t have, but that works two ways. Marino, Elway and Luck didn’t have to compete against elite defenses and a half dozen future Hall if Fame defensive coaches in one season!

TL has a long way to go to be as good as Joe Burrow. Yes the potential is there, but he has not done that yet and there is no degree of certainty that he will. Personally I think Burrow will be better, because what makes Burrow stand out the most is what he brings to the table upstairs, I do not feel thats where TL stands out.

Lawrence will have played 3 full, fantastic seasons before he gets to the point where Joe Burrow even started a college game in his 4th year

But At that point he will be in the nfl.

His development is so far ahead it’s not even funny, which is why he is a better prospect.

I think Till Now Lawrence has been phenomenal GIVEN HIS AGE.

But it’s not like his stats have been objectively eye popping. He didn’t lead the ACC in TDs Howell had more TDs and Less Int.

If he doesn’t take a large leap I wonder if he goes ahead of Fields, who had more TD, Less Int and played in a better conference.

Burrow had the best season in The history of college football. Again there is no guarantee TL will ever get to that point. I would bet heavily that he never will.

So you are saying that TL will come out and put up Burrow like numbers AND be the leader that Joe was last year in this upcoming season.
