Very average. He did some good with beating Alabama his first year and winning a heisman with Jayden but every time he would win a big game he follow it up losing to a bad team to finish at 9-4 with a Texas bowl win.

Alabama win in 2022 was cool. It was not worth $100 million. He will be remembered as a failure who, with Scott Woodward, committed daytime robbery.

Being part of an LSU team where a player won LSU's third Heisman and beat Saban the GOAT. I know a lot of people dont like BK but when its all said and done he will go down as a very good coach. Obviously it didnt work out here so well. But he was never as bad as people made him out to be.

The hire is more memorable than the tenure. Hiring away ND’s all time winningest coach for about $100 million was big a statement, especially after “going cheap” in 2016 (ironically).
Started with promise by beating Bama and reaching the SEC CG in Year 1. Heisman winner (whom the fanbase now hates) with a prolific offense in Year 2 while the defense took a massive, unexpected step back. Just couldn’t put it all together.

He’s a prick a-hole loser son of a bitch murderer OK but if this is a say something nice about BK thread I truly do appreciate the 2022 win over Bama. When he put his nuts on the table and went for 2 right there, has to be one of the top 10 moments in Tiger Stadium history if not top 5.

Brian Kelly = placeholder.
Context...
- The program didn't run off the rails under his stewardship (when he took over for Orgeron who was in the process of derailing). One could argue Kelly somewhat stabilized it.
- The program also quickly plateaud under his stewardship... Kelly was a successful coach, but not sure he was ever the ideal coach for LSU (I hoped he would pan out, fwiw). The program wasn't tanking, but felt like it was getting stagnant and losing ground to other elite programs.
I've heard the critiques of Kelly playing golf too much, drinking wine all day, whatever else. I take those critiques with a grain of salt. Not sure how true or relevant they were... Might've been the shifting NIL landscape more than anything Kelly did or didn't do. He might've lacked the hunger or attention to detail when he took over. Who knows... Doesn't change anything.
I don't hate Kelly. I just see him as a placeholder. He didn't let the program completely tank. But he didn't re-establish them as elite either.
