I’d say this also. I would sum up his tenure and unmet expectations. He won everywhere he went. I thought he could win a championship here with less guardrails than ND. He came in and had a few bright moments but every year didn’t live up to his potential. You have to be pretty bad for someone to pay you that much to stop showing up. He is most remarkable for that accomplishment

We agree on Archer. He wasn’t bottom of the barrel. He was underneath the barrel. Once He signed a special ed student. 60% of his signees couldn’t qualify and weren’t that good even if they did. His wife picked him up from work every day and blew the car horn until he came. It goes on and on.

Nothing else in modern day cfb. He was good at ND and all of the media hype that goes with it makes it better than it seems. He couldnt take control and call plays when needed but was able to pass the buck along, and could communicate to the press well enough accordingly.
CFB is in a wild transition during his tenure at LSU, current coach gets this transition.

I think this thread really got silly when posters are just saying alcoholic. He won a lot of games here. I thought it was gonna go a lot better. I’m still shocked that all the significant changes were made. Love it. Louisiana as a state has a chance to be awesome led by our university! Yes I’m a grad before the douches come out

CBK fielded 1/3 of a team each season he was here. Sometimes that 1/3 played well. Special Teams was always a disaster.
His legacy at LSU was his firing.
The timing of his dismissal put the entire College FB universe on notice.
