There is enough circumstantial evidence to show otherwise. I get what you're saying, but c'mon man......

My understanding is these players who are being rostered didn’t sign contracts with the NBA? Is that the difference? And I’m not attempting to be obtuse.

That is a difference. By a rule that was created after this became a talking point at all. The point I think certain lawyers are fighting is they drew an arbitrary line in the sand with zero basis behind it except to just exclude certain individuals. The reality is if they fought this hard against the likes of Chambliss and the dozens of others that are playing and are not ineligible, this wouldn’t be an issue. So when we’re saying the situations are the same it’s not the fact that the specific situation (what league they were contracted under) is the same. It’s the fact that they were all ineligible and some were pointed out while others we are all good with and don’t hear anything about.

And now… the fact that LSU is being sued in Federal Court….by the SEC… for a case that LSU is now a co-defendant with the SEC is absolutely hilarious!!!

you understand these are two separate cases and have nothing to do with each other right?

Well, yes and no.

The SEC brought Wade's comments about building the basketball roster into the federal case. The response by LSU was to call out the SEC leaving significant context that Wade said at the same time, "we will follow SEC rules."

Now, while it may be legally true that these are two different cases and LSU is protected temporarily by this injunction, if Wade were to roster Luis, it pulls the LSU response off the table in the federal lawsuit. And, winning that lawsuit is the most important thing on LSU's agenda right now.

If I were Wade, I would not roster Luis. It's not cowardice to choose what is right for the institution, IMHO.

Didn't RJ Luis sign a pro contract and get paid? IMO this seems like the line in the sand that no one has crossed to this point. And I believe it's in direct contradiction to the NCAA and SEC rules.

Is the SEC still in contention that NIL players are not really paid?

No .

I said exactly what I meant. I would rather LSU not have a basketball team than deal with this lawsuit BS.

Same, and I felt the same way about the football players that tried to come back.

I understand the issue with the football players was different.

I don’t like any of it

LSU is already doing the only thing they can:

Stand in between the courts and the SEC with your hands in the air.

If you put him on the team it is because a court forced you to. And then you don’t play him.

You wait for the federal court to slap the SEC around.

There is not enough to win here to do something the SEC can act upon. Play the long game. The SEC is going to lose eventually.

He shouldn’t roster him, this isn’t a 5 for 5 case and 100% agree with your take

If Clayton is correct this will be an opportunity to expose arbitrary action and lack of action by Stankey. He specifically mentions Chambliss who is in his 6th year. IF the SEC actually cared about these things they would have raised hell. Also, the SEC didnt pounce on other schools that had the same plans or even took kids that were on practice squads etc. “Making and example” out of LSU wont play well in court like it does in Sankey’s office

It's interesting to me how everyone keeps thinking this is a Stankey singular issue. No doubt his leadership and actions need to be criticized and called out, that said, he is just the mouthpiece. He doenst do one thing that the other membership Chancellors and President want him to do

It's the other schools pressing and pushing this, not Stankey alone. I'd bet if you gave him a personal truth serum, he fold and want this to disappear but it's the other schools not letting him

my two cents

F that. Just let the SEC try to push you around for no reason. Try not being a puss your whole life.

According to our AG (Liz Murrill) the SEC Chancellors/Presidents voted for the the legal case to be dropped in their last meeting...

You’re wrong. Sankey got hie wittle feelings hurt when he was on the stand. So you think that other schools are doing the same stuff and forcing Sankey to go after LSU alone??? Makes no sense
