re: LSU true #1 rival

As I tell everyone whoever asks the question "Who is LSU's rival?"

We dont have a rival...we hate everyone.

(I live in Houston...I get asked this a good bit.)

I can't believe folks dont understand this stuff.

Every big team has a small group of pretty trusted insiders. They are guarded with their info and rarely give definitives unless they are certain. If you pay attention you can kind of figure out the general area of where they get their stuff...some from coaches...some from admin...some from boosters...some from players.

The DIFFERENCE between LSU and EVERY OTHER SCHOOL....

Is this website.

Every team has a 247 and an On3.

Only one team has a huge site like Tigerdroppings.

Every SECfan that is online knows this site. Id say a good portion of other big fanbases outside of the SEC know this site.

I am not aware of of a site like this that exists...lots of CFB fans of lots of different schools contribute...but it is an LSU site.

Thats the deal.

So you get trolls and wannabes and fake posts and all that cuz its easy and fun.
If he leads them thru the playoff and they do well...make the semis...make the title game.

I think that happens.

I’m sure there’s an emotional connection to a program he built for sure. The reality is, it’ll be tough to top what he’s done there this season.

Lane with an aligned LSU behind him could be special, especially if Nick and even O are in his ear telling him what it’s like to win big here.

This exactly. The difference is CEILING. This year is probably the best he can do at Ole Miss.

What he did at Ole Miss this year could easily be the FLOOR at LSU.
small detail....there will not be a Saturday press conference unless he is staying at Ole Miss or coaching them thru the playoffs.

There would be a Saturday press release for LSU. And then a Monday press conference.

This is the most importance piece of the whole post and what should give LSU fans serious unease. We're negotiating with an extremely immature person and offering him the keys to the kingdom.

Eh...thats probably overblowing it. I have left a place I loved for a better job. It sucked. I was torn over it a ton. There were MANY times I considered just staying. There were plenty of folks that tried to pull on the heart strings to keep it from happening.

IT WAS DIFFICULT.

I do not sweat the dude for being torn. I totally get it. If in the end he decided to stay...I would totally get it.

It is honestly the one thing I wouldn't be pissed over. It's a perfectly understandable choice.

...and the wrong one.

but it doesnt mean he is immature.
No we are in the same place we have been all along.

Its LSU...but its Kiffin and he is prone to emotional decision making...so there is always a chance.

On the NIL...what they are talking about is the general unsettled of NIL right now for everyone. Nobody has done anything with the new rules. Nobody knows what gets approved by the clearinghouse and what doesnt. Nobody knows what happens when something is not approved and a lawsuit happens (how do you tell a person that they aren't worth what someone is willing to pay?). It's all uncertain. LSU has made promises into that uncertainty...but ultimately nobody knows how that falls out.
Its honestly good news if Kiffin leaves for LSU.

He is not the only one. Easy to spin. Harder for national media to crucify him.
Not the same.

Tulane and North Texas dont have near the same program needs as Ole Miss.

North Texas may never reach the playoff again...same with Tulane. Their is a big difference between happy to be there and expect to be there every season.
I dont have an issue with a search firm...I just dont think big schools like UF need one.

If you are a lower level job it might help. But why does UF need a search firm to call the agents for the 5-6 guys everyone knows are the targets?
Won't matter. If he leaves his team it will last ONE newcscle and then the playoffs would start. Ole Miss is projected to play Bama...who they would lose to no matter who the coach is.

Then poof...its gone and he is just the LSU coach.

Looks fake

Its real...I have a source.
Saban will defend it. That will be the end of that.

Beyond this...being the villain WORKS for LSU. Our fans enjoy it.

Its one of the reason Kiffin to LSU is a good fit. HIs personality quirks fit LSU.

LSU will embrace it. Athletes will find it cool. we will be fine.
Can I just say that one of the reasons I want Lane Kiffin as the next coach is because....

...he would totally retweet this.

I mean…one of these days he is gonna be correct.
I was once on a Southwest flight in those odd seats that face another set of seats. Guy across from me looked oddly familiar…then I noticed the big ol ring on his finger. Figured it out and stunned the guy when I asked “Are you Donnie Jones?”

Which is why my (then)3 yr old son has a picture with an lsu football player and his championship ring.

I’m flying home for thanksgiving and ran into a staffer for the athletic department. I alluded to LSU signing Kiffin and he replied that he can’t say anything but had a shite eating grin on his face and winked.

That’s just how they are taught to answer every question. They teach it on media day.
I think Riley is a bad fit.
No doubt.

Ole Miss would be choosing to let the LSU Head coach work at their school and coach their team thru the playoffs. He would be planning for game day for Ole Miss while daily acting as the LSU Head Coach.

...all while OM doesnt have one...or has hired a new one.

Sounds crazy doesnt it...
