The "lack of institutional control" allegation is incredibly petty and irrational.

A lack of institutional control is somwhow evidenced by a tongue-in-cheek quip at halftime by a coach who COMPLIED with (arbitrary) league rules by refraining from rostering the players in question? If anything, the fact that Kiffin didn't list the players on the roster despite believing that the NCAA put them in an unjust predicament demonstrates that his personal desires were overriden by school administrators- i.e. the very definition of institutional control.
I have no idea what third-rate mouthpieces Sankey hired as counsel.
Moronic saber-rattling from a moronic set of buffoons besotted by their trivial administrative powers.
I hope Sankey loses his entire career over this baseless, legally specious attempt to intimidate my alma mater.

If only we had institutional control like Georgia where every year multiple football players endanger lives with their speeding vehicles and the coach and admin seemingly do nothing about it.

If I'm a random member school - lets say UK or Arkansas - I'm really wondering what fricking benefits Greg is currently bringing to my university besides making the SEC look stupid.

The counter suit should this stand could be epic!
Can you imagine the damages for unfair application of bylaws for allowing Ole Miss' situation with Chambliss to stand without filing a lawsuit against LSU.
How About Ole Miss tampering with the Clemson LB in violation of the NCAA policies that the SEC didn't say anything about.
There's as much of a case against Ole Miss for lack of institutional control as there is LSU, and when those violations of equal enforcement of policy is rolled out in front of a federal judge, most likely in the 5th circuit in Louisiana, it's going to be bad for the SEC.

Sanky lacks the temperament and discretion to hold his post.

It is not going to fly, the reality is the just becuase the institution has completely control of it all.

He’s trying to be a tough guy. Reminds me of Alleva.

I hope he’s fired as well. Unless there’s information that hasn’t come out yet, none of this needed to happen.

lack of institutional control
I'm an attorney who works in corporate compliance. I almost laughed when I read that.
Lack of institutional control is a term of art that only follows a thorough investigation of internal controls (things like policies, procedures, training, reporting, etc.) following an incident of non-compliance.
The fact that it was tossed in as an amendment based only on an offhanded comment during an in-game interview is one of the more absurd things I've ever seen in any context. The SEC is punching air.

Penn state didn’t even get slapped with lack of institutional control, while they had a whole pedo ring coverup operation going on in their locker room
This is like those videos of a Karen realizing she’s on camera being insane, so she flails out and makes herself fall and is like “that’s attempted murder!”

People on here are not going to like this, but I guarantee you Sankey and several presidents got texts Saturday morning of McAfee's antics during Game Day and the day went down hill from there. The conference leadership was horribly embarrassed by that, then you have Kiffin saying he intentionally made Clemson stay in the locker room as long as possible, followed by the pro player comment.
The pro player comment is not what got that ball rolling. It was just what broke the damn.
Nothing will come of it. But league leadership is clearly sending a signal.

Normally, I would not root for escalation in a situation like this. But I agree counterclaims are warranted here, because the disparity in treatment and bias are just so conspicuous and malicious. F Sankey for trying to bully LSU.

Very much agree.

But, he didn't play "pro" players.
Ole Miss' best player is a SIXTH YEAR player that sued and won, FFS.
He said "Imagine". What would John Lennon think?

WITHIN THE EFFING RULES!
The exception to the rule in to shorten the period. THE EXCEPTION.
That's like saying, "Well, he ran the clock down with a big lead instead of running plays."
FFS, this is beyond ridiculous.

Can you imagine the countersuit over the lack of institutional control insane comment when the Tennessee head coach called for his fans to bring copious amounts of golf balls to the Tennessee LSU game to throw at Lane Kiffin, inciting pre planned violence.
Miraculously, nothing happened to him. He wasn't even reprimanded, much less suspended, much less thrown off the SEC bandwagon.
LSU would own every bit of the SEC assets if they'd pull this shite.

Apparently Greg Sankey sees no lack of institutional control when Ole Miss was calling a Clemson.player sitting in class asking- what will it take for you to break your CONTRACT with Clemson?
What a joke the SEC has become.

Salty about Will Wade and his foreign players

SEC would get their arse sued by many if the kick out happens…This would mean ESPN/ABC would lose money on broadcasting LSU vs Ole Miss, LSU vs bama, LSU vs Texas, LSU vs Tennessee and some other games. I have a feeling ESPN/ABC will file a lawsuit (along with LSU obviously) if LSU gets expelled and all games canceled but who knows…
This will not workout well for SEC. They saw what happened Saturday night. They are legitimately scared of LSU winning the big one and making them look stupid…
Take notes on which SEC teams vote to kick us out even if we end up winning the vote in our favor… Will never pull for those schools again and will wish them failure in the future…
I never thought I’d say this but I kind of hope we leave the conference that’s out to get us at this point regardless of what happens. We’ve had many bad calls go against us at times but this is ridiculous at this point…
