Of the major sports, we’ve won 11 NC’s, plus lost two NC games.

Baseball 7-1 in NC
Football 3-1 in NC
W basketball 1-0 in NC

What is your favorite NC game or series?

Mine has to be 2003. We were playing the “Mighty” Sooners, Matt Mauk is one of my favorite QBs for LSU, and the football team was getting back into the “Magic”.

2003. Was a senior. Was amazing! But I am here to say 2019 with my wife and I going to all the games was so so close. Honestly 2007 was special too. Whole family went to that game (last game with my dad before he died) and I introduced my family to my now wife.

Nothing will ever replace the feeling of 2003. Thought we would never get there and we did it. Then later proved we were there to stay.

2019. We were underdogs in 2003. We had 2 losses in 2007. 2019 we were a juggernaut.

You are talking about the entire season (I get that), but we all knew we were going to win it all by the time of the NC game.

In 2007, everybody had 2 loses except Ohio St, which got their 2nd loss in the NC game.

I’m talking about just the NC game itself.

1996 is probably #1 by a mile.

Agree with these but I call 1997 baseball after Alabama beat us 22-2 ( or something like that) in the last series of hell the season and also losing in the sec tournament. And then, whipping Bama’s arse in the national championship game with Doug Thompson getting the final out was great for hom

It is the single greatest moment in LSU sports. To add to the moment, the game was a heavy weight fight for 8 2/3 rounds.

1996 Baseball
2019 Football
2023 Baseball
2003 Football
2007 Football

That’s my top 5. And I could probably interchange the top 3.
2019 and 2023 were so much fun because you knew those teams had that “it” factor and they were going to pull it out.

2019. I was at a Woodrow’s Bar in Houston with my cousin who has since passed. We were so worried after that 1st quarter but burrow and chase started to dominate in the 2nd. Greatest team ever.

Until the title game, the 2011 football season was pretty damn exciting and dominating. The whipping of Oregon in the opener, humiliating West Va. on the road, not to mention beating Bama in OT in the Game of the Century were pretty special. 13-1 was fun.

The only one I was there in person for was 2023 baseball. But 2019 football was awesome too, I got to see the Florida, Georgia, and Oklahoma games in person. So both of those.

2003 - as a long time fan, and seeing the 80s (83-90 student) and suffering through the 90s as a young alumnus; that championship changed everything.
1996 - the Morris slam will never be forgotten.
2019 - total dominance against the best. That was lightning in a bottle. God bless Ed and Joe.

But I loved them all. God bless Kim, Paul, Les, Nick, Skip, Ed, Jay and every player they recruited.

It's really understated how good those Clemson and OSU teams were.

2019 - I graduated in 2013 and watched LSU lose 2011 in person. It erased lots of bad memories in an instant. Walking out of the dome seeing it lit up in purple and gold is one of my favorite memories of all time.

It was a bonus to get to go to the SECCG and Peach Bowl too.
