Ben’s eulogy was great. I think Skip was shown a lot of admiration and respect throughout his years at LSU, and it’s pretty rare that someone gets to see how they’re cherished while they’re living. I think that’s way more important.

Maybe they should’ve done it on the weekend. Seems like common sense.
I would’ve definitely gone if it was in a Saturday

Kinda weird.

I didn't know Skip personally. Or any of his family. I'm sure he was a great dude, but I don't go to funerals of people I don't know/never met.

I would have loved to have been able to make it, but I just had/have too much going on right now.

Guess he should have hired Saban back.

at the end of the day Skip provided some of the best memories I have of LSU athletics
his former players revered him and rightfully so
the community responded to create an unbelievable following of LSU baseball

that doesn't mean I belong at a celebration of life for someone I was not close to in any personal way other than sports fandom which I've always separated from my personal life

though, with players, coaches, etc.

yeah that's probably who should attend a funeral/wake for a coach

if fans want to attend, I get it....but its retarded to be upset the PMAC wasn't packed to the gills on a Tuesday in August. He's been well celebrated since the news broke, that's probably more important than funeral attendance, especially a televised one.

More "fans" than that will probably be b!tching on here after the 1st loss of the season.

this doesn't even make sense.

Was kinda shocked when I walked in last night. The pre ceremony reception was absolutely packed, but that was most of the crowd tbh. Having it on a weekday didn’t help but it didn’t start until 7 to be considerate of work schedules. They did a good job though, Skip would’ve been proud.

Yeah, if you've ever tried to get around LSU after work it can be a nightmare with traffic especially with school back in session this week

Embarrassing for a guy that did so much for LSU. I just don’t think a guy that old would get much attention anyway.

Usually high attendance celebrity funerals occur when people die way younger. Hopefully the big fella lives till he’s 88 too, but if Shaq died and had a Celebration of Life at LSU, he’d have the place sold out. Nick Saban would fill Bryant Denny.

I don’t think Skip was famous enough to have casuals show up. In the end a successful coach in a minor sport, and AD that not many people ever care about administration.
