Has there been a bigger failure than Good Good? A relatively small YouTube channel somehow got their stuff into Dick’s, Callaway, and then was sponsoring a PGA Tour Event, then lost it all in 15 seconds.

There should have been 9 full seconds of game time left.

However, based on the clock NBC was using, that clock was not set to 9 seconds. It was 8.2 at most given how quickly the first numbered second elapsed.

Referees do keep the time on the field.

Using these FACTS;
#1. Refs stating there should be 9 seconds left after the prior play was over.

#2. From the snap of the ball to when the player touched the ball after jumping from out of bounds (which then deadens the play), there was less than 9 seconds that elapsed. My stopwatch showed 8.3 when I did it at game speed.

Therefore there should have been time left,

I think what all the idiot downvoters aren’t understanding is that the refs verbally told the clock operator to set the clock at 9 seconds. They think the prior play was just some normal clock stoppage play and there’d be no way of knowing if the 9 secs was really 8.2. Well, that is a void argument when the Refs gave a clear instruction on what the time should have been (9 seconds).

To me, the Michigan Stadium clock operator did not set the clock to 9 seconds, and that is what NBC was using. That’s why the first second ran off so fast.

When you time the play yourself and clearly see the play took less than 9 seconds, I don’t know what the controversy is.

Because trust me. If that play had taken more than 9 seconds in stopwatch time it’d be all over the internet. But it didn’t. It took less therefore there had to have been time left on the clock.

If the clock was set at 9 exact seconds on the clock that NBC was using, each change in second as the time elapsed wouod be the same rate.

But if you watch the NBC clock, it doesn’t happen that way. The first second change goes way faster than the rest of them. Which means NBC was using a clock set at 8.2, instead of the 9 that again, rhe refs said to use before the play even began

That’s why that first second on the TV feed goes off so fast compared to the other full seconds as time ticked down. NBC probdbly did have it set at 8.2

Again, if you think WMU got screwed, use your own stopwatch from snap till rhe touch. It’s less than 9 seconds.
