If Oklahoma and Bama don’t royally choke today. Competition is at an all time high in the conference and likely rising until some regulatory change.

They could’ve just taken the the top eight team from Hoover and going to Omaha and started the tournament early

I think 4 are on the right side of the bracket, which helps the chances of an SEC championship

That would ensure an SEC team in the finals, at least.

And the other side of the bracket has some of the lowest competition. Could see UNC beating Bama but I don’t think WVU or Troy have the horses.

Edit: should be Ole Miss, not Bama.

OU and UGA have the best shot to win it all

25% of the Omaha field still wouldn’t have been there.

Let’s just hope Texas doesn’t win it all. Keep that distance from them in NCs.

Could end up Ole Miss against Georgia. That would be cool. But, I think GA is the team to beat. The most dangerous team to get through is West Virginy.. I think it will be WV vs. GA for NC. I will be pulling for GA, because we do not play them at all hardly. To hell with Bama, OM, OK and TX.

How does the Rant feel about SEC teams in postseason play now? Pull for them? Root against them? Depends on sport? Depends on school?

20 years ago, I used to pull for all SEC schools in postseason play. Since the SEC has become dominant, I pulled against them.

Watching the Kansas regional, they eliminated Arkansas and did the SEC chant. That always annoyed me a little, but it’s Arkansas so it was cool.

For me, I like having 5/8 CWS teams being from the SEC. Helps keep the SEC brand elevated for future rankings and to get that extra team in the tournament (Kentucky this year, who choked away a probably Omaha appearance).

But my SEC interest usually stops in Omaha, and I want them all to lose. Maybe with the exception of Oklahoma, I’ve always liked them.

While the numbers suggest this is the correct pick, I am anxious to see how they do in Omaha with the larger field. I don't think they have the pitching to win Omaha this year.

North Carolina is going to be hard to beat in Omaha IMO.

I think the field issue is overplayed with Georgia this year. I think some marginal homers would go away on a legit field, but they still mash and some of those balls absolutely fly over the wall. They’re my pick to win but if the bats get cold I think they’re done. It’s all about who stays hot. We’ll see.

MSST would beat all 4 teams in Bama’s bracket. They just ran into a buzz saw in Athens

Miss state can’t pitch. Georgia can’t pitch. It was a battle of which bullpen could hold on just enough

I find myself pulling for them but often times I’ll switch for an underdog. This past weekend I was pulling for Moo State. A lot harder to root for Bama though. The sad thing is they’re all going to beat each other up on the one side of the bracket this year so you can almost wait until the championship if you’re an SEC fan.

possibly however I don’t see Georgia going very far in Omaha, you got to have pitching depth or elite weekend guys at Omaha and we seen over the years that Schwab can humble great lineups. As fun as that super was a majority of those HR’s are warning track fly outs.
