There is 2 outs, and no way you to know how close the ball is gonna be, and if he’ll pick it up cleanly and throw a good one home

Its not sucking, its a strategy, and one that works alot in college ball

Good, but we need him on the weekend too
Fun fact: no team had lost 5 in a row or more and won it all since 2000 lsu

Precisely what happened in 2024
2024 had holman and jump, and a decent defense. This team has schmidt and no defense. Big difference. And when we were holding steady, schmidt was pitching well. If he is hitting his wall now, then we have a to endure another 2-3 weeks of below average pitching from the whole staff.

I dont think there is some great answer. But here is what id do, id try to get as many pitchers in comfortable roles for them as possible. That means im making evans my first big bullet out of the pen, even if its the 4th/5th inning. He is nails from the pen. Guidry is back to late innings of close games, 1 or 2 innings max.
Schmidt is giving you a great chance every saturday minus this past one. Im keeping him there. Im starting moore when he comes back on game 1s. Hopefully he can get the ball to evans in a tight game. If not evans can be used saturday. Sunday, im starting cowan, no questions asked. I could easily switch moore and cowan in these scenarios. The goal for me overall is getting pitchers where they are comfortable. If moore misses another week, id bet on talent and throw paz on there to start sundays.
No more starting fontenot or guidry or any other reliever that doesnt have a chance of giving us 4 innings

G Lee is a pretty emotional poster from what ive noticed, wouldnt pay him any mind.
If it plays out like that, which is pretty realistic, it should be an interesting test case for the committee. Luckily for lsu, theyll be looking at alot more than just rpi this year
Ok, thats not that long ago
Defense is the biggest issue
Im one of the most optimistic baseball fans on this board, i still thought they had a chance at omaha in 2024 after the awful start. I dont see it with this team, they arent constructed to win tight, low scoring games. Which is essential

You have to send arrambide there, this could be our best chance to score all day, and there was 2 outs

Switch hitting will provide him a little value also. Id say a 3rd to 4th rounder
Obviously he’ll do well there

UCLA’s small ball would SMOKE this team with our pathetic infield play. They could easily put up 10+ runs just bunting with every hitter.
Im guessing you havent watched ucla play this year, or followed them even a little bit
re: Balk video

Lefties are generally allowed a 45 degree angle on that pickoff, go watch andy pettite’s move. But to be fair, thats probably closer to 60 degrees. Puts the onus on the ump, at home, good luck getting that call.
Lefties are usually allowed to step towards the dugout in those pickoffs to 1st. Its rarely called a balk, but sometimes is.
