If you really believe Naz wasn't paid by lsu to play here I can't help you

The only problem is that little issue of proof and at least for now you’re not guilty unless it can be proven.

Scott Rabalais is as professional a journalist as you will find. Also a great person.

If he gave him $300,000 he got robbed. Maybe worth $50,000 no where near $300,000.

I’m totally pumped that Wade came back from suspension and landed Watford for less money than it took for Reid.
THAT is how you stick it to the man.

Lester Earl said WW gave back $250k to LSU as an admission of guilt so this $800k payment to Naz is 100% fact.

I can't agree with this.

This could be true. I have no idea.

If you really believe two knuckleheads talking shite on a video recording is any sort of proof of wrongdoing, I can't help you.

You’re right, when Wade talks of strong arse offers and having $300,000 he’s just clowning around.
LSU's assistant coaches make $300,000 per year. According to nola.com, Wade was basically offering a job to the guy if he could bring in Naz. Coaches hiring people in order to get certain recruits has been happening for decades, and according to the NCAA and the rules as I have read them, it's within the rules to do so. It's poor reporting by Rabalais.

Link to this story? I'm not seeing it anywhere. Advocate usually posts stories early on twitter and website.

Rabalais really didn’t stretch anything, certainly not to the level to be as upset as you are.
He’s not a PR worker for the university
It's not about not being a PR worker for the university. In journalism, your wording is everything. Rabalais chose the wrong wording in today's article. There was no testimony that came forward alleging that Wade "gave" $300,000 to Naz Reid.

A distinction without a difference, imo.
Seriously? One means he gave it Naz, and the other would mean he had the money if he NEEDED to use it.
Now, I'm sure what you mean to say is that both are unethical. But here's what you're missing: If the allegation is only that Wade HAD the money, then that means there was no payment, and all we have is a guy's word.
Do you know how easy it is to just make an allegation that someone said something, when they know it can neither be proven nor disproven? That's called hearsay. A common tactic of people who are desperate.

If you geniunely believe Wade didnt cheat you're the biggest homer of all time. That said, I'm glad he's still the coach and dont really care that he cheated.

I don't think there was any testimony that Wade had money for Naz. I'm pretty sure this was just a quote extracted from a video recording of the defendant and Book Richardson, where Richardson made the comment. In which case, Richardson wasn't under oath and obviously no representative for Wade was able to offer a defense of the comment or dig deeper with cross examination.
This is not exactly due process as it relates to wrongdoing by Wade.

Hanny and Ott need to stop having that Phat Frick on...he's a dweeb

Even though you're trying to protect LSU, you're still completely wrong. So wrong.
Wade never said he had a deal to pay Naz. Never. Never.
He said he had a deal for $300,000. He never said it was for any player. More likely that the "deal" was with a booster for $300,000 for whatever. Paying players? He never said, and definitely never said it was Naz.
LSU fans who want to "help" LSU with this while posting their backyard legal interpretations need to stop.
