re: is Square the most recommended card reader for a small business owner - whitefoot on 9/28/20 at 11:49 am
Thanks, that's good to know. The last I'd heard they weren't so I'd avoided them.
They've been encrypted since around 2011 or 2012. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: Is APA a buy at these levels - whitefoot on 9/27/20 at 2:43 pm
maybe unpopular but I never do this. That is I never buy more of a stock until it’s above my original purchase price at some point never add to a loser until it becomes a winner. you can always bail out and buy it again lower (but be mindful of wash sale timeframe)
I think this i...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Purchasing a home from parent/family - whitefoot on 9/25/20 at 4:07 pm
Sounds like your cousin just a total POS, though. My brother bought my grandmother's house from my dad and his two brothers and it's family financed and there have been zero issues. My brother got a good deal on a house that needed some love. My dad and uncles got fair market value, didn't have...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
As has already been said, after you meet the extent your company will match, then *both* of you max out Roth's (principle can be taken out any time, unpenalized) and you still have money left over... ... if that's really the case, you need to look really closely whether or not yall e...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: Best Personal Finance Books for Young High-Earners - whitefoot on 9/21/20 at 11:50 am
In the money board's defense, you gave irrelevant details about your financial situation when asking for a book recommendation. And you weren't clear on what she's interested in learning about. You mentioned personal finance, then you mentioned wanting to start a business. You said she knows ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Can someone check these rental numbers. - whitefoot on 9/20/20 at 8:37 pm
That could work if no major expenses crop up
But even if something does come up, he only putting $6k down, I'm assuming that's not all the cash he has, so coming out of pocket for repairs is probably something he's going to have to anticipate. The thing that would scare me the m...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Can someone check these rental numbers. - whitefoot on 9/20/20 at 1:28 pm
Is $1300 rent on a $105k property terrible? I knew only $200 cushion wasn't great, but seemed the purchase price to expected rent might be decent. I've been considering purchasing rental property but have a lot to learn, which is why I was curious about the replies op would get....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
CML Pro - Spinoff thread - whitefoot on 9/19/20 at 2:22 pm
Didn't want to hijack the watchlist thread but cgrand has touted CML pro a few times and wanted to follow-up on it. Does anyone else use it? Do you have to call to cancel? Is it mostly technical analysis? What does "the exact trigger" indicate? ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (3)
re: Explain the market dips the last few days - whitefoot on 9/19/20 at 1:06 pm
To be clear, I’m talking about corporate earnings at large.
I think that's what we are talking about too. There are simply going to be companies that win and companies that lose in this paradigm shift. Not all companies are going to experience earnings growth. The winners will...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Explain the market dips the last few days - whitefoot on 9/19/20 at 11:42 am
There are definitely similarities, but the biggest difference that I see is how much better these "overvalued" companies are than in 1999. Back then, there wasn't a clear path to monetize the internet. The companies today are making tons of money and growing at extraordinary rates. Some might ne...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
Oh wow that makes me feel better. I think outstanding eligible expenses are approximately $3500? She has no clue what is in the account but I have her checking on it soon.
If you have $3500 in unreimbursed expenses year to date, I think you're probably going to be ok.
