Yes, there is. 15 design qb runs last week vs Tulane. Simmons wasn’t doing this. Better hope we game plan against a running qb. Because it’s coming.

Watched a quick highlight reel from the Tulane game and his decent runs mostly came because the edge defender pinched in and took himself out of the play; or the safety saw run and ran straight to the pile of blockers while Chambliss took the edge.

Avoidable mistakes; fix them and it's your typical script vs a Lane Kiffin offense. Limit the chunk plays and force Ole Miss to sustain long drives.

We couldn’t stop the run because our ends couldn’t set an edge and Penn was too slow.

Our whole defense is night and day better than last year

This is where PErkins will shine for us.

Chambliss is an excellent runner and a pretty good passer (not great there). It'll be mostly up to Perk, Weeks and the safeties to contain the running aspect of his game. If you turn him into a pocket passer he's going to struggle against this pass rush and secondary.

He is hot so far throwing the ball, but it wasnt his best attribute last year in D2.

we didn’t have Perkins most of last year, nor the DLine we do.

Or safeties that could come down into the box and tackle in space.

I'm surprised Kiffin announced it so early in the week

There was intent behind this announcement. I expect Simmons to play at some point.

a good G5 one that he tore up.

Is it thought? They gave up 31, 27, and 45 to South Alabama, Duke, and OM. Other P5 programs held USA and Duke in check.

Tulane-
92nd- Opp yard/comp (LSU-11th)
65th- Opp avg qb passer rating (LSU-11th)
98th- Opp rush yd/att (LSU-9th)
97th- Opp 3rd down % (LSU-18th)
93rd- Yd/play allowed (LSU- 9th)
75th- Opponents estimated offensive ppg (LSU- 6th)
54th- Red zone scoring defense (LSU- 13th)
68th- Points per play allowed (LSU- 6th)

Im sorry but Tulanes defense is not good.

They'd be dumb not to. We haven't been tested by a true DT QB yet.

Perkins/Weeks alternate spy. I’m confident.

Trinidad loves to hang his deep passes. I think DBU may have 3 picks this game. Something I noticed while watching OM-Tulane. Every throw over 20 yards has tons of hang time

Move Hilton to corner.

Arkansas and Tulane don’t blitz much

Blitzing a mobile QB can be disastrous. Containing him has to be the focus.

I would prepare for both qbs. If Chambliss does struggle, kiffin will put in the offer qb.

I don’t disagree, but sometimes they can’t handle it. He’s figured it out now, but Lamar Jackson used to be absolutely terrible against the blitz.

Arkansas and Tulane tried contain and it didn’t work out well for them. We know Blake Baker will sent pressure, so we will find out how good Chambliss truly is.

So basically Nuss the first 3 weeks?

Except OM will have to throw 35+ time to try and win this game

Good, people this he is so great. There won’t be any excuses when the LSU defense turns him into a pretzel.
