First one was thrown exactly how they coach it in today's offense.

Can’t believe someone is here taking up for what’s supposed to an All-American, 1st round draft pick completely shitting the bed, acting like a spoiled child and then quitting on his team. He has no heart. Period. If he did, we wouldn’t have seen what we did Sunday. He doesn’t want to be at LSU. An NIL deal is the only thing keeping him there.

Are the hands and chest a bad place for the ball to be?

The one that hit him in the shoulder pads wasn't a drop. It's not an excuse but more of an miscomm with Jayden. Boutte was expecting the ball later in the route, not on that break. Not a big difference but he didn't exactly drop it.

Targets vs. catches (numbers in parenthesis are after penalties called the play back)

Boutte - 2/6 (2/7)
Thomas - 5/5 (5/6)
Jenkins - 5/5 (6/6)
Nabers - 5/5
Mason Taylor - 5/5
Lacey - 1/1
Kole Taylor - 1/1
Bech - 1/1
Goodwin - 1/1

Can't blame anybody but Boutte when the QB's other targets went 25 of 26 catching balls thrown their way. Those numbers are pretty glaring and hard to argue against.

The first TD pass attempt was under thrown and not a reasonable catch to expect a receiver to make, even a great one.

Chase or Jefferson make that catch 9 out of 10 times. If he is as good as he thinks he is and is this great WR then he is supposed to make these catches.

IIRC he did catch the ball on the corner route. The DB cleaned it up sweeping it out of his hands as he hit the ground. Did not complete the football move or in this case survive the ground impact.

Naaa man. He had both hands on that first ball. Yea the defender helped knock it out, but he had it. The defender barely hit it.

First one was tough, but he's a future NFL WR1 and should make that grab 90% of the time.

Won’t be a round 1 pick if he misses too many more of those.

First of all I don't blame him for the drop. The first pass was absolutely perfect for the play and a resurrection of the pass in the Championship game that put us over the top. But Boutte hit the ground and cant really be blamed, it was a tough hit to take but not a tough catch. The second was all on him, but the timing was off by the QB, but he has to be in a position to adjust.

ever heard the saying, "it hits your hands you've gotta catch it?"

I’ve heard that saying, and it’s stupid. Not every ball that hits your hands is catchable. Folks who deny that were never football players.

It hit the DB’s helmet as Boutte was reaching back over the DB. It did hit his hands, but only because he was reaching back over the DB, because the throw was short.

He also dropped a pass that would have extended a drive when he was WIDE open over the middle and the ball hit his hands. He seemed really out of it Sunday for sure.

1st TD pass was perfect reminded me of Burrow to Marshall in NC game. Just an incredible pass by Daniels and the “1st team AA” dropped it. The 2nd one? You’d have to be retarded to think that wasn’t Boutte’s fault.

I was a football player and a receiver, and yes if it hit your hands or any part of your body, even if one of your arms were torn off during the play,,,,,,it was your fault.

An All American WR should catch any ball hits his chest or hands.
