I think most people had Miami, Texas Tech, and Vandy expected to be very good? The only real surprise was BYU

Miami was 10th preseason (1 spot behind LSU). Texas Tech was 23rd. Vandy was not ranked.

We should have a preseason top 25 thread so everyone can post their top 25 rankings and we can revisit them at the end of the year. I bet they would all be very accurate.

Just an opinion of another “expert” so we just have to prove it. We play 6 or 7 teams ahead of us. Only thing to do is take care of business and beat them.

That's right, folks. Navy is a stronger team than LSU.

Clemson was terrible last year. They barely qualified for a bowl. How are they supposed to be drastically improved, better than LSU?

I don't why you people care so much about this nonsense.

LSU was #1 or #2 in the preseason baseball poll and were hot trash. No worries though. You can still brag about being preseason ranked so highly.

To be fair, preseason polls are a joke. I think if you asked college football fans, the majority would say those teams would be very competitive.

Notre Dame has more Sept 1 National Championships than anybody. By a long shot.

I know Phil Steele gets a lot of negative views here. However he has the best college football magazine out there.

He has more information than any other comparable magazine.

I have been buying it for years and is a great source for info on players, coaches and summation of teams.

Like most here, I watch a lot of college football. His magazine helps me enjoy watching a game with teams I am not familiar with. Things like strength and weaknesses of a team, who are the stars, what offense and defense they run, etc..
