His recognition skill / awareness of what's happening while he's rushing the passer is excellent. That's what stood out to me when watching his youtube highlight film.
I don't really give much thought to Pop. I mean, if he can ball, then he'll ball. If not, then Kiffin will go get a guy who can.

Honestly, I'll be shocked if Kiffin doesn't bring in another transfer QB next off season - or when Leavitt leaves.

I still can't wrap my head around a grown-*ss man whining about something as insignificant as a jersey number.

If I was in control at LSU, every number from 0 to 99 would be available every year. If the Canon, Burrow, and Daniels families were to have a problem with it, then I'd tell them to deal with it.

As for JD, he's shown himself to be an arrogant, conceited, pompous, and extremely self-absorbed individual. His hubris is... well, profound.

He deserves all the criticism he's receiving.

so basically, everybody is going to be riding on skinny tires.

the narrower and harder your tires, the better gas mileage you get.

Ford F150s with Model T tires.

IT'S A frickING NUMBER FOR frickS SAKE, YES IM YELLING

I'm with you. This nonsense is so incredibly trivial.

I would not retire any number - EVER. The Cannon and Burrow families can get bent if they have a problem with it.

A current player wearing a number of a former LSU great/legend does not detract from nor disrespect the LSU legend in any way.

A former player believing his/her jersey number should never be used/issued again is a MONUMENTALLY ARROGANT and POMPOUS individual. The self-absorption of such a person would be immeasurable.

JD killed Skip…

I was waiting for it.
Jayden Daniels shouldn't be worried about something as insignificant as a jersey number.

He's showing himself to be an incredibly pompous individual.

quote:

Yeah, this is ridiculous. We can’t just retire every number. We’ll run out of fricking numbers lol. He was a special player. One of the best players to ever play at LSU. But this is one of the most childish reactions from a player I have ever seen. Honestly it’s kind of shocking.

I agree. It's such bullshite. Why does a grown-*ss man care if another LSU player wears the same number he wore while at LSU?

Talk about taking your ball and going home b/c you can't get your way. As you said, childish behavior.

Jayden Daniels can STTD!

No take backs. Legacy tarnished. JD can kick rocks.

If JB9 wants to go this route, then he can kicks rocks as well.
The problem with Ryan Clark's offering is that Jayden Daniels himself refused a request to allow DJ to wear the number five jersey. JD's camp says he feels disrespected by LSU allowing another player to wear the number five jersey.

That is supreme arrogance and I find arrogance disgusting.

F*CK Jayden Daniels and frick any LSU athlete who thinks they're so important that no one should be able to wear whatever number they wore while at LSU.

Grow up and have confidence that you will be remembered as one of the greatest athletes in program history.
no way this is true. what's your source?
and the nonsense continues.

I'm glad DJ is keeping 5.

Also, if someone wants to wear the 9 jersey, then give it to him. I won't be offended by it and if Burrow is, then f**k him.

Former players thinking that their jersey numbers should be retired, honored, or respected is some seriously lame @ss bullshite.

Perhaps they should have confidence that they will be remembered as one of the greatest to ever wear whatever number they wore.

One went 16-0 and won a national championship. Pretty easy to see why

Football is a team sport bro. Joe Burrow didn't win the natty the heisman by himself.

And there it is.

The only thing that can make this better is if Mendoza publicly stated that he doesn't give a **** about someone wearing the number fifteen jersey.

Arrogance is repulsive.
quote:

For the clowns hating on JD5, would y’all be okay had Pickett demanded to wear #9?

1. Frick you for attempting to turn this into a race issue.

2. Joe Burrow can go frick himself if whines about another player wearing the number nine jersey.

3. Retiring jersey numbers is foolish.
Retiring jersey numbers is foolish. I hate it.

I really wish LSU would announce/enact a policy of not retiring jersey numbers.

Great LSU players should leave the program with confidence in their performance while at LSU and shouldn't give a rat's @ss about what number they wore. Like, move on with your life and have some humility.
Let me be clear on this:

Joe Burrow can go f**k himself if doesn't want another player to wear the number nine jersey. Same goes for all retired jersey numbers.

I believe retiring jersey numbers is foolish.

Thinking a player shouldn't wear the same number as "YOU" is a profoundly arrogant position to take.
quote:

Well, officially on the frick JD5 train.

Me too.

What a profoundly arrogant position to take by JD. I'm truly disappointed.
Imagine what his Washington teammates are thinking about this.

You know some on his team are looking at him and thinking, "Bro. Are you really that arrogant?"
