There are two rules actually, with two different areas, one is the targeting player, the other is the defenseless player.

And as it relates to targeting “Note 1: “Targeting” means that a player takes aim at an opponent for purposes of
attacking with forcible contact that goes beyond making a legal tackle or a legal
block or playing the ball.” - that’s where the analysis starts and does not mention a specific area of either players body. And the next section is explicitly a non exhaustive list of things that could be considered elements of targeting

Seriously, this dude is a clown.

No he isn’t. He is making his opposition’s point for them, or positioning the argument where he wants it to go. He does it on every single board on this site, and is obviously the way he works himself into always being right.

RB10 asked the question over and over again, and when he finally answered it, he is trying to use the answer rather than attempt to understand the viewpoint he is refuting. It’s quite obnoxious and obvious pattern. He has convinced himself he is the only smart person that posts here. Which is of course ridiculous

Are you seriously citing two reviewable plays that were ultimately overturned in favor of UK, as helpful to LSU?

The calls were helpful (and incorrect) when called correct?

When called is very important for this discussion

I showed how it was a bad question multiple times. I can't do that if I don't understand the bad argument he's attempting

I agree, and it was quite obvious watching the replay this morning. LSU got Sankeyed and I expect we will see the same the remainder of the season.

2 for 20, and none against their offense, in such a close and physical game is pretty remarkable.

It’s not remarkable, it’s intentional

You literally proved my point that it’s very rare and still don’t comprehend that.

I am an LSU fan. The following comments will be painful for many of you. LSU was outcoached last night. Especially the last quarter of the game. Furthermore, the Tigers had to rely on two gimmick plays to keep up with Kentucky. Stop whining about 'the refs'.

The only way to fix this is to allow teams to have 3 review request per half on missed penalties. A missed hold on a big play? A coach can use one of them to request it to be reviewed and the flag can be retroactively applied.

Who cares that it's going to slow the game down. It should be a fair called game and it's not......Even Bama got robbed last night.

Just because you want it to be important doesn’t mean it actually is. The calls were ultimately overturned, which is part of the officiating process.

Targeting is 100% reviewed and is carved out in multiple areas of the rule book as a point of emphasis. They want to eliminate it from the game, so when in question, it is called and reviewed. I’m not sure how you don’t understand that the on field officials need to make that call to remain credible

The other one was a pass completion that is easily reviewable. The on field crew has protection of a replay.

You’re right but that’s exactly why the staff and team have to play flawless football. It sucks but the SEC has it in for LSU.

Agree 100%. If we had played well, we probably would've won, even with the officiating shenanigans. We bumbled around and kept Kentucky in the game and the officials were able to insert themselves to a degree that it affected the outcome.

I’m telling you as someone reading it, you refused to answer his question and when you finally did, you attempted to make his argument before giving him a chance to. All while standing your ground on what is quite frankly a worthless argument.

Seriously, you are trying to make the point the game was called fairly, by citing two calls that could have been favorable to LSU getting overturned…while refusing to discuss calls that were made that were in fact not favorable to LSU. That’s silly.

Well, they scored twice on plays that have valid and obvious arguments that shouldn’t have been allowed by rule. That doesn’t make your point that they got outcoached or otherwise should have overcome the circumstances invalid, but the officiating is allowed to be discussed.

LSU also had the most procedural penalities(false starts, illegal sub and illegal formation.... that is also not on the refs.

When is the last time an offense played an entire game with 0 penalties assessed?

Is that something that’s common?

• Offensive Holding on B. Brown (10 yards) – First Quarter (Offsetting live-play flag accompanied by an LSU Roughing the Passer penalty)
• Illegal Substitution (5 yards) – Second Quarter laughable but it's LSU's fault the offensive holding offset...

So not an assessed penalty.

They didn’t have an illegal substitution penalty in the 2Q.
