LSU will back away when they feel like they can’t will, but we’re into the thicke of it now.

It will be interesting to see Sankey’s next move, because at this point he’s desperate to make an example out of someone due to recent events

LSU isn’t stupid enough to burn itself down over a couple of late player additions. That’s common sense.

And I hope no one thinks a TRO or preliminary injunction protects us.

Please explain this for ALL TRO's. Why are all the schools that have played ineligible players with a TRO, not getting delayed punishment for playing those players.

If you think these players will be granted an injunction with no protections, you don't know the law. If the ruling is they have been damaged, they will have a remedy that is protected by the court.

The legal question is this:

If LSU plays someone qualified only by injunction, and that injunction is reversed as wrongful on appeal, which happens all the time, is LSU protected from the consequences?

I think the answer is no. But I also think it is highly unlikely there is any precedent. So you take a pretty big gamble by playing them.

Because the toothless NCAA was barring them from play, not the conference. That makes a big difference.

Since you do (we will see), you got a cite?

Would love to hear your legal analysis.

If I’m wrong, I’m wrong. That has happened very occasionally over 40 years. Glad to listen.

TRO that is later reversed will still protect you for that period of time it was valid, but thanks for your inaccurate legal opinion.

You got a cite for that? Cuz 3608 suggests otherwise.

Exactly.

I got downvoted before for saying this, but the whole thing is a completely unnecessary distraction going into week one.

And I’ll get downvoted again.

And if the players win a temporary injunction, we still don’t have to sign them

I think this is going to end up being a right to work case, and perhaps LSU is leading the way in changes that help athletes.

These players are pros, whether the SEC and BIG 10 want to admit it. They're compensated for the work they do. Football is basically their job, even while in the college ranks.

If anyone else left school to join a corporation or some other field, and discovered they were either not going to land a position or advance in their field, they could return to school to earn advanced degrees or certificates that would increase their opportunity to advance.

The players and their lawyers can make the case that if they are able Eto return and improve as players they are being deprived of a chance to work in their chosen field.

Well I asked ChatGPT and it told me as long as the players are named in the Dallas Order LSU would be fine. There’s a hearing 8/31 on LSU’s Order and 9/10 on the Dallas one.

This is not ChatGPT this is just my dumbass reasoning - I foresee this coming to some conclusion with these 41 guys named get to play but going forward no more NFLSU players. And I mean pro or training camp rejectees for all of the ncaa, SEC and other likeminded conferences.

What happens when say the Sun Belt don’t have an injunction and the court rules against the ncaa but not against those high holy conferences? I know schools like La Tech prefer spending money on shite like engineering and edumacation, but imagine if they could and start buying low level NFL players?

This is ridiculous. There has to be “some” rules. Without rules what happens when these dip shite referees blow game-changing calls this year that have paramount consequences? Will we start having TRO’s declaring the losing team the Winner or better yet just prohibiting the SEC from officially recognizing the team with the most points at the end of the game the winner? We need rules and we need those rules to have teeth. However, Im not at all so certain that those who are in charge have the spirit of sportsmanship and neutrality at their core. We live in weird times. And I just want to watch football and scream at my TV and high five my seat neighbors in TS when we score etc. I want to drink beer in the parking lot watching the 2:30 game on my tailgate TV and listen to music and smell bourbon. I want to cook a bunch of shite on away games and have friends and family over and watch the other SEC game waiting in ours to kickoff. I want to throw crap and cuss the TV and cheer and yell when we win. I want to post ignorance on the Score Board and hope I don’t get banned. I want to nurse a Sunday morning hangover while I decide if the Saints are worth watching or whether I have holes in my fantasy lineup. I want to get on the Rant Sunday and read the sunshine pumping apologists and and the negatiger pontifications. I want to be happy or pissed or disappointed or enthusiastic over football. I want shite to talk about at work on Mondays and sometimes Tuesdays. For sure Thursdays and Friday mornings. I want to wear LSU shirts to work instead of Hawaiian shirts on Friday again. Borrowing from what ol Hank used to say, I AM READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!

From a risk reward standpoint, I agree. On principle though, I kind of want to stand up to the powers that are being asshats.
