No Way We Should Play Em

Sports writers should stop acting like lawyers.
Moscona just said that a TRO or injunction would protect LSU from sanctions if they play these disputed players.
Injunctions get reversed all the time. And when they do in Louisiana, I don’t think they protect your conduct during the time they were in effect. You take a huge risk relying on a preliminary injunction.
No fricking way we should play these guys.

Your concern is noted. Lane says STTDB

You sound like a pussy. The NCAA and now the SEC are acting in their own self interest and not the interest of the players they profit off of. It’s the way it’s always been and now we are seeing it being dissolved in front of us. The SEC will be fine and will be reigned in, but the NCAA likely may be done once and for all after this.
Is this coordinated to make that happen so we can have conference autonomy? I don’t know. Maybe. Either way we have a justice system (flawed as anything, but it still matters), so that’s what takes precedence whether anyone likes it or not it.
Geaux Tigers. Let’s go win a bunch of games with the current players, new players, players from Saturn. I don’t care.

Because I know the law? Do you?

And I want LSU to act in its self interest. My point is that playing these guys isn’t in it.

Here we agree. But you don’t win them if they get taken away after an injunction is reversed.

Moscona is a giant douche, but he has said multiple times he is just relaying what lawyers are telling him. Tony Clayton was on AFR yesterday explaining the current state of the union and Matt was very honest that he didn’t know everything and made sure Tony explained everything he could so he and the audience could get a basic grasp of what’s going on.

I’m not a lawyer but I don’t need to be to know LSU isn’t stupid enough to burn itself down over a couple of late player additions. That’s common sense. You don’t need a law degree to not be retarded.

You might be surprised how many with one are!

Until now, I’ve had no beef. He seems to generally understand the process, and he is clearly digging in deep to get information.
I just think he whiffed bad on this one.

exactly right. everybody is thinking that Lane is the one suing the SEC or the NCAA. Lane has nothing to do with this. LSU isn't stupid to let Lane take the lead on this. and to begin with, it isn't LSU that's bringing the law suit. it's the players.

Why RISK it? We have a loaded team without them. LK should take a pass and be glad he has the team he put together.

The only transfer that will end up playing for LSU is the Notre Dame edge. The other will never see the field.
At some point they will cave to the pressure of potential penalties. I'm honestly not sure why they have let this presumption of defiance linger on.
My best guess is we get some statement from LSU in the next week saying "We tried our best looking out for the best interests for these players Yada Yada Yada but LSU will have to move on without them.

Exactly. And I hope no one thinks a TRO or preliminary injunction protects us.

A TRO that is later reversed will still protect you for that period of time it was valid, but thanks for your inaccurate legal opinion.

Welp there it is. If he said than LSU should definitely follow through

He has only said a hundred times that he is no lawyer but is talking to the lawyers directly involved in these cases. His information is coming straight from the defense legal team but I'm sure you know more.
