re: How is Ole Miss #4 in portal rankings?

It was just a rhetorical question, but thanks for the concern..
Well you keep repeating this question in multiple threads like you know something about LSU's roster. Obviously you didn't know LSU has a full compliment of OL players and you don't know what rhetorical means.

LSU has the 11th ranked overall class. Or 8th, depending on your metric.
Yer not 'lapping' anyone.
I didn't write the headline and the video was about the "portal haul" but since you are obviously triggered, logic be damned.

As you can see, Ole Miss actually upgraded their roster (at least on paper). First off, the number of players out = the number of players in. Second, the "star power" of their roster was a net increase.
You talking about star power. How about actual on field production. These are not HS players. If you are recruiting the portal primarily for potential instead of production, you are in trouble.

So congrats to lsu for grabbing some big time names out of the portal, but that's not the end all-be all of this game (like who's gonna play oline??)

39% of their incoming portal class are wide receivers hahaha
You recruit for a complete roster. LSU only had 1 WR on the roster and 2 HS commits. All of those WR's were a position of NEED. The roster is looking nice. 1 more OL and maybe 1 more LB and the roster should be complete.
Didn't OM loose their best LB to the portal yesterday? Hmmm.

That was a media headline on YouTube talking about the PORTAL haul for Kiffin. Maybe you should understand context.
2026 Portal Class Rankings
Looks like LSU has the #1 Portal Class. :pimp:

So by your posted graphic, LSU is +1 in bringing in (5 star) players. LSU is +1 in bringing in (4 star) players and LSU brought in 22 (3 star) players with game experience while letting go of 26 3 star players who were backups with little to no game experience. Got it. Thanks for clearing that up.

Chambliss doesn’t have the COVID year or the JUCO distinction to use as an argument. His case is more similar to that of former Tennessee basketball player Zakai Zeigler, who played four full seasons and then tried to sue for a fifth year of playing eligibility. In June, a federal judge denied Zeigler’s request for a preliminary injunction that would have allowed him to play this season.
This is why they are judge shopping in Mississippi State Court. They hope to get an injunction that will last the season and don't care what happens after that. The NCAA will request a change of venue as their first order of business in this case.

I’m not understanding the premise of this question? They made the CFP playoffs this season? That’s not a bad year? Where is the drastic fall that you’re talking about?
This is not Saban's bama. The wheels are starting to come off. If you can't see that, I don't know what to tell you.

quote:Yes but is it better to heavily invest in freshman who will likely test the free agent market again before they contribute to the team or to invest in portal players that have experience, film and are ready to contribute now. Every P5 university has the same $20.5 million to "profit share" with their athletes. It's up to the staff to build out the roster the way they want.
247 says Bama is 35th in transfers but 2nd in recruits and 7th overall
Also, the schools with the most brand recognition have additional third party NIL deals to their top players. (Canes, Nike, Puma, Amazon, Etc...)

And yet despite their irrelevance they have played in more playoff games than LSU has.
Well we all know OM likes a participation trophy so they will likely hang a plaque next to their SEC co-champ banner from 2007 but still no championship of any kind in over 63 years.

'm not embarrassed at all. Alabama won 11 games.
re: Since a lot of star players want to renegotiate every year, why not just have 1 year deals

quote:Did you just wake up from a coma? Revenue sharing starts this year and ALL the SEC universities have committed to share 20 million per year with their scholarship athletes. All NIL deals must now go through a clearinghouse to make sure they are legit NIL offers with legit companies. The school collectives are being transitioned into more financial services programs at most universities.
n the CBA, they have to get their arms around NIL and eliminate the pay for play thing. I realize stuff will still happen under the table, but at least it would only involve the top players instead of the entire roster.

We were winning at half with the only thing keeping us in the game was defense. When you have an inept offense, the defense can only keep you in it for so long.

quote:Waiting doesn't always mean more money. Ask Niko!!! Everyone is working off a budget. The longer you wait, the less money that is available in the budget and the fewer options you have because deals get made and the budget cap fills up. It's like musical chairs... If you wait too long, you are left standing with the small bag. This is not "money under the table". This is a business that must run off the budget money for that year.
Why shut things down today if you can push things back asking for more money?
