Think about working at a large company where the successful but annoying and immature manager has hopped around departments throughout the company while making your job more difficult all along the way.
The issue with your metaphor is that your coworker shouldn’t make your job more difficult along the way.
Your competitor absolutely should.

I don't know how people can embrace him with open arms.
It’s really not that hard. He understands current CFB, has a great offense, and he wins.

Jamarcus did that all on his own. They gave him the playbook with a blank DVD. Told him to watch it. Next day they asked him which plays he liked. He said all of them.

College football has just become about buying players and buying coaches.. Who cares who the coach is? As long as he can win games and who cares who the players are as long as they're good and can win games also. this isn't your dad's college football anymore. get over it

Rouge you are missing the point. Lane is an example of College football movement into the future. I don’t think Les, O, and definitely not Kelly have it in them to adapt to this paradigm shift.

Because he's the LSU football coach?

So would you have taken Saban back despite his Alabama history?

Had JR forced on him and JRs issues were because JR. Not much Kiffin could have done to account for that. It was going to happen where ever JR went.

Again, I am sure you would take Kirby, Saban, or any of the others in Saban’s line.

He did a great job there. Whats the issue?

I've spent the better part of the last 20 years hating on Lane Kiffin and everything he has been associated with.
Nobody is excusing his behavior in the past. Where do you see that? I see people excited about b his offensive innovation and great success.
Some of you all are just ridiculous.

Carrying that much hate for Kiffin is kind of weird. Its not even close to the emotions that Saban evoked, and even he didn't directly spurn LSU for Alabama. On the other hand, Kiffin wants to be at LSU so badly that he left Ole Miss right before they played in the CFP. Kiffin wants to be at LSU. That's good enough for me.

There doesn’t need to be some ridiculous loyalty litmus test. Hire the best coach, period.
And Kiffin is one of best offensive minds coaching today. We’re fortunate to have him.

When we score on our opening drive against Clemson, you better take a lap!

I’m replying to your OP right away before reading all the replies, so this has probably already been said.

Seems to me he’s taken steps to be a better parent & a better human. He’s very talented, surrounds himself with talented people and lets them excel. These are qualities I admire & I’m ready to watch him work.
Posted on 8/1/26 at 6:08 pm to Rouge
Because he absolutely fits here and is what we’ve needed for a long time!!

You make too much sense for this location. I hope he does well, of course, but I'm not as sold as others. Also, I'd rather win with class. I expect the down votes to fall like rain.
