If you think LSU is going to win this game comfortably, you might want to see a doctor.
When Ole Miss has been bad—like in 2017 and 2019—the crowd wasn't much of a factor, and LSU handled business comfortably.
But look at 2013 and 2015. We had experienced quarterbacks, more talent top to bottom, and still walked into a feverish Oxford crowd and lost both games.
We'll just pretend 2021 never happened.
In 2023 and 2025, LSU should've won. We were certainly more talented than Ole Miss in 2023. I'll put that one on BK and a hungry road crowd.
My point is this: the 2013, 2015, 2023, and 2025 teams all had more experience in their systems than this year's team. I'd argue all those teams also had more overall talent than this year's team (on offense in particular, excluding '25), plus A COACH WHO WASN'T IN HIS THIRD GAME at a new school. Ole Miss isn't significantly worse than last year—the best team they've ever had—and this game is arguably more hyped than any of those previous trips to Oxford combined.
That's why I think this will be an extremely difficult challenge for a first-year coach with a new quarterback coming off injury who, so far, hasn't exactly looked comfortable on the road in an SEC environment.
I mean, can we step back as a fan base and acknowledge that LSU is 2–5 in the last seven games in Oxford? We have struggled for whatever reason.
I've always been a glass-half-full LSU fan, but after last season, there has definitely been a funk around the program. I believe that's been cleaned up, and this game is so massive to eradicate lingering residue. It will set the trajectory of the season and the program. It's one of the biggest games LSU has played in years.
I get it, transfer portal cures everything. We filled holes. I, too, love to put blind faith in transactional plug-and-play players, but until I see them play two full games together as a TEAM, I don't know how anyone can be so confident about going on the road in a hostile environment against one of the best teams in the league.

So? If Kiffin is the coach everybody says he is, and LSU has the talent to be a playoff team (which I truly believe they do) then the Tigers should welcome the challenge of playing in Oxford, not fear it.
You making up arguments in your head?

Challenge is only half of the equation. Talent is the other half, and I believe LSU has on balance better players and better coaching. And I can't visualize Chamblee toying with the Tiger defense again.

I don’t want to be a Debbie downer but I do not expect us to win this game. I still think we ultimately end up having a better season than Ole Miss though. Never forget the 01 Tigers lost at home to Ole Miss early in the year and may have been the second best team in the nation behind Miami at year’s end. We would have made some real noise in a 12 team playoff.

By and large, our defense did a solid job against Ole Miss last year. If we could have put some offense together in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, I think we win.
Kiffin is now here, he retained Blake Baker and a lot of that defense is back. Kiffin knows what does and doesn't work for Chambliss. And he knows Golden's defensive tendencies. And let's remember Kiffin actually knows defense via his father, he's so successful offensively because he knows how to attack a defense.
I said it before, I think Ole Miss will look good in the first half, and Kiffin will wait til the second half to unleash his actual game plan. He's not going to give Golden a halftime to try to figure things out, he'll have to do it on the sideline in real time. I do think we'll have more of a running game in the first half, just to burn clock and keep the defense fresh.
