In 95 I was in a Bar Exam study course with Cleo (It was like the 4th or 5th time he took it) and he had to be one of the dumbest people I ever had to encounter

Nope! After losing to OU in football and Basketball the Coaches were fired. As for baseball, It is a championship hangover and transfers and freshman being unable or unready to play SEC level baseball. (Enjoy this down year in all 3. It will not happen again!)

In their defense, Allen was running full speed and hauling arse! Hitting a moving target is tough, but yes I expect better out of the USSS.
Ambrose did little to no research on BoB and took all of the veterans first hand accounts, although 40 years old as absolute fact. Winters had obvious reasons to dislike Sobel and that and everyone else's accounts painted Sobel as an incompetant a-hole.
Those vets just went back to their lives after WWII and felt that what they did in the service was no big deal and wasn't worth talking about. Even Winters (WHO SHOULD HAVE WON THE CMH!) had to be coxed by his wife to tell his story.
My dad was in the 508 (Easy was 506) and jumped on D-Day, Market Garden and was at the Battle of the Bulge, but never talked about his time in the service even when I asked him.
Those vets just went back to their lives after WWII and felt that what they did in the service was no big deal and wasn't worth talking about. Even Winters (WHO SHOULD HAVE WON THE CMH!) had to be coxed by his wife to tell his story.
