8. Big improvement over the BK years, but not where we need to be yet. The offense is good but lacks WR playmakers. Green being out hurts, but he’s not the kind of playmaker I’m talking about. It’s more like Nabors, OBJ, Chase, Jetts and Landry. We have nobody who will win the battle on the deep sidelines when covered. And the QB is a turnover machine. The defense is good, but not consistent enough to travel and win if the offense stumbles. ETA: Oh yeah, the left guards are bad.

What an optimistic take. If Kelly had two losses after 6 games, and we were effectively out of playoff relevance halfway through the season, then people would be screaming for his head. I don’t see how, at this point, you can call it an improvement, when Kelly won the SEC West in Year 1.

Hey my ultimate “baseline” goal this year was this:

1. Not have a super porous O-line and have the QB shellshocked every dropback.
2. Have any sort of run game improvement.
3. Have a coach that is passionate and looks like he truly gives a damn.

So much newness from top to bottom, I think if we snatch a win with Bama or Texas, I would say it was a decent season and a good start with year one.

We lost by 24 points to Texas A&M last year. We were barely beating teams like Western Kentucky. We are doing far better than that this year. If you cannot see that you are blind, or just so disappointed you are jaundiced

You can't lose to Kentucky and expect anything higher than a 7. And that is going generous.

8. We’ve lost by a total of 9 points on the road and had a chance to win at the end of both games. I was miserable watching the last two years and I’m not now. He hates to lose; I don’t think BK cared much.

We need to be more locked in on the road especially in the first half.

The current year’s iteration of Texas A&M is 3-3 and just got blasted by Missouri - I don’t think that this is the measuring stick for improvement.

Under/after Kelly, we were 10-4, 10-3, and 9-4. With the remaining schedule and the performance so far, it would be a surprise if we don’t have two more losses in store. Maybe you can argue that Kelly inherited a better team, although the previous two seasons were 5-5 and 6-7.

You don’t poach a guy like Kiffin and spend heavily on the portal without the expectation of immediate playoff relevance. Not necessarily winning a title, but at least being in the postseason picture. And it doesn’t look like that is going to be the case.

We have had the talent edge in every single matchup

Ehhh…Our O line is a liability. Lower tier in SEC. Our wideouts? As a whole receiving room? Not near the top of the league- especially minus TG. Defense. Our best overall squad but has been inconsistent in key moments. Maybe more a coaching issue than talent. Injuries there haven’t helped.
