re: 2026 Draft

Well if Shough has it then we trade the first pick away for like 3 #1’s and a few other picks, quickening our rebuild, provided Loomis doesn’t take injury prone DE with every pick we get out of that hypothetical deal
We will see. Not gonna hold my breath this early in the process. We have been burned too many times by these out of state players. Not sure why any of them verbally commit anymore bc it means absolutely nothing. Commit until they get more money is what they should say.
The Mannings value education and their legacy. That kid doesn’t even need the NIL money he is getting. I could be mistaken, but I think back in the day if Payton had left a year early he would have been the 1st pick then also. It’s possible he could break from this and come out early after only starting for a season but I don’t think so.
Y’all do realize that no Manning that I am aware of has never left school early to go pro? If he is like the rest of them he won’t be coming out until the 2027 draft.

The cornerback room post draft depth

Should the Saints try and get Asante Samuel Jr, if he is still available? Our current group is not very impressive on paper. Or if someone else is available get them?
I’m more concerned with corner
I hated the pick but nothing we can do about it now. Let’s just hope they find some quality players who can make the team in the remainder of their draft picks.

Na, we didn’t trade away picks this year and next to move up.
I want to address positions of need with the best player available that will contribute for years to come with meaningful snaps. Don’t care what position they play. Let the player dictate what gets addressed
I’d say keep building the team to make it more attractive for a QB to come to us. Get a TE or RB or WR or OG.

I don’t think anyone close to those guys are in this draft
I can’t keep up with the board and read it all the time. But my question is if he is injured and can’t play, or if he is claiming (faking) injury and can’t play do the Saints have anything they can do other than pay him what is left on his contract? I guess my question is do teams have an out for injury? Or do teams have an out for someone who doesn’t fulfill their contract by playing? Faking an injury to me would be conduct detrimental to team. I’m assuming we are stuck paying?
Take the be options to rebuild the team. Take a QB when you can get the one you want.
Hopefully the front office just tries to make the team better and we take a QB next year, unless they think the next great QB is there for the taking. If Carr is gone then ride with Rattler for a year and we are guaranteed to pick near the top, if not the top and then do the same process, draft a QB if the staff loves him, if not, make the team better. But we are talking about Loomis doing something than is rational.
If Carr is proven to be faking an injury I wonder if that would essentially end his NFL career if it’s proven he is faking?
That’s him! Couldn’t remember his name. Only thing I remember is he was hurt more often than Davenport.
Maybe bc of our recent history with Davenport and I don’t even remember the other dudes name who only has a few more stats than I do in the nfl.
I agree he will never do it.

The entire 2025 NFL draft is average

Most people agree it’s a down year for QBs, but it also looks like a down year for every position. Sure there are good players, but not the numbers you’d see in other drafts. Some of the dudes you see in first round mocks I’ve never even heard of. Might not be a popular opinion, but if the Saints don’t have their guy I hope they trade back and get some 2026 draft capital.
