Vince Young- 4,086 total yards 38TDs
Cam Newton- 4,369 total yards 51TDs
Joe Burrow - 5,004 total yards 51 TDs and has 2 games to go.
It’s not even close really Burrow by a mile.

Given more time to talk I find it impossible for Gary not to mention Alabama. so there's that
I think it is fair to say that deep down, Gary is furious that the Hawaiian is not in the conversation...

Cam Newton at Auburn and Vince Young

Unlike Newton and Young, there are only a handful of plays in which he is thinking run first, and LSU doesn't run a read option offense.
“He’s not a Blake Sims, Tim Tebow scrambler where you’re nervous about where he’s going to go,” Danielson said. “He’s a maneuvering in the pocket, ‘Oh no, I can do more and burn you.’
He runs smart. The others gave defenses numerous scheduled opportunities to injure them. That's the difference.

People forget that Aaron Rodgers had a good arm in college but ended up with an absolute cannon in the NFL. These kids are still growing. But they have to find something to try to knock him over. Pretty impressive that that’s all they can come up with.

And people still think Danielson hates Burrow and LSU.

Even still, he injects far too much bias into the game commentary. He makes excuses an projects where it is not needed.

Dude, literally said Joe was not Bayou Joe until he did what Broadway Joe did on. The. Field.
Broadway Joe was an anomaly with ONE Super Bowl win!
That’s it!

Why is it that none of these analysts can compliment Burrow without throwing in the obligatory "he doesn't have the strongest arm I've ever seen" comment?
Why do people feel the need to say this every time? WHO has the strongest arm they've ever seen? Joe's arm is every bit as strong as the majority of the QB's in the NFL. Why does it matter if he has THE strongest arm?
It's like it's painful for people to admit that the guy, who no one had on their radar before the season, is the best QB in the country, so they have to throw a dig in there.
As for his main point, it's nice that he put Joe in his top 3, but Cam and Vince didn't have season's close to this, and frankly, I wouldn't put them in my top 5. Joe's season is literally historic.

If anything, that sells Burrow short.
Not really
Those guys were worth at least 2-3 wins alone for their teams that both went undefeated and won the national title
Cam Newton was an almost unstoppable force. Without him AU finishes 3rd or 4th in the west even with a good to above average QB.
Vince Young took down a very talented USC team in dominating fashion and should have legitimately won the Heisman that year.

One of his TD passes this past Saturday was an absolute bullet into a window about a foot square.
That throw was amazing.

You can see it in Danielson's face it kills him to speak well of LSU or one of their players.

Ok you are just making shite up now. Gary got fricking choked up taking about Burrow after the Bama game. How much more excitement do you want?

Just Gary's typical backhanded way of saying VY and Can were better..NOT
Joe is the CFB QB GOAT

The questionable arm strength is a myth. When a scout looks at weaknesses it’s hard to find any in a dominant season like Joe has had. Accuracy is the best the NCAA has seen statistically. He has showed his leadership skills and football IQ is off the charts. Pocket awareness is like an NFL veteran. Work ethic is already known by everyone. Toughness and durability is as good as could be graded.
Weakness: Burrow doesn’t have the arm strength of a Jamarcus Russell or Brett Favre. ***But he has a stronger arm than probably half the starters in the NFL right now.
Weakness: Burrow doesn’t have the speed of Marcus Vick. ***Correct. Joe won’t run the fastest 40 for a QB ever. Shocker. But he has won games with his legs and running ability.
The fact of the matter is that Joe Burrow is as solid of a QB prospect as there has been in a long time.

I agree on all points, and this is what I've been saying all season when someone tries to knock his arm strength.
I see nothing lacking in his arm strength, but he's so good at everything, and people want so badly to try to "analyze" things that aren't there, that they start picking at little imperfections.
I guess these guys would go up to 25 year old Heidi Klum and tell her that her heels aren't high enough.

He has below average arm strength for an NFL QB. However tired you are, it does not change that. Just as Drew Brees is short, and Brady is spastic, Burrow is a little weak in the arm. All three of those QBs would be better if their weakness wasn't there.
Montana had average arm strength and Peyton Manning threw some of the ugliest passes. They had OK careers.

I'm one of the most nit picky guys on this board, and think y'all are nuts with this.
Its average, definitely not weak. He's got plenty of zip out to 30-40 yards, which will keep any NFL GM from complaining
