Allows him to create the precedent he wants while expending less political capital than he otherwise would. That seems to be his angle. Chances of LSU actually getting expelled from the SEC are nil. Unfortunately LSU is going to be the conference’s punching bag but if it leads to a situation where the SEC can establish enforceable rules in the long-run: probably worth letting it play out.
