Holy terrible takes.

Man this thread. I only thought I disliked LSU's fan base before. Good grief you people.

No, she doesn’t, and I respect Sue and she deserves to be honored, and she was duly honored when she retired. Just do it differently. Brown earned his name on that court and 100% deserves it without having to share the court with a lesbian woman for the simple sake that she was a lesbian woman who coached here and the social-political posturing shite show this is becoming.

Why is Tim melting so hard over this?

Tim likes to hear himself talk and still believes himself to be relevant.

No one really cares whose name or names are on the court. It’s the PMAC.

I tend to agree, when I go to a game I say I'm going to the PMAC, never have and never will say I'm going to watch a game at Dale Brown court at the PMAC.

I agree with others, stuff like this and statues have become a sort of participation trophy honor.

“hello, my name is John Brady and I was a final four coach at LSU as well. Did it after keeping the program alive after Dale Brown put the NCAA hammer on us. Can I have my name on the court with Dale and Sue too!?”

You’ll never win that argument. It’s a simple as one coached men’s basketball and the other women’s.

Brown could have been half as successful at LSU as he was and people would still argue he is “more deserving” for that one fact alone.

What better way to bring down an old washed up white dude like Dale than to rename the court after a female lesbian. Yep I said it and it’s the truth.

as opposed to a male lesbian? Also, was Sue Gunter black? How does that bring down the old washed up white dude, Dale Brown?

For the record, they shouldn't name the court after either of them. Put up a statue or name another building after them. Putting multiple names on courts/arenas is kinda dumb.

Oh look, a decrepit and detached Boomer who thinks that a WBB coach who went to more Sweet 16s, Elite 8s, and 1 less Final 4 in her respective sport is simply being recognized because she was a lesbian and "WoKe CuLtUrE."

Get a grip, gramps.

ETA:

Sue Gunter LSU winning %: .667%
Dale Brown LSU winning %: .598%

Not saying either deserves the court but don't talk about Dale Brown like he's some god and then in the next breath discredit an equally successful coach because you don't like her sexuality.

Gerry Dinardo put more butts in the seats per year than Dale Brown. Should we name something after him? Paul Manieri won a natty. Let's name the bullpen area after him. Ed O won a natty let's given him a goal post. Obviously Les Miles would have all the grass named after him.

Naming anything for coaches that have not won anything significant is pretty stupid because what do you do when you have a coach that actually does win something meaningful?

Should never have been named after Dale. Now its going to be Dale Brown-Sue Gunter Court. If Kim Mulkey ends up winning a championship or two are we going to rename the Court Dale Brown-Sue Gunter-Kim Mulkey Court? Just stupid. Should never have named the Court after Dale Brown. Good recruiter but never won anything with those historic talents.

I couldn’t care less if Dale Browns name was on the court or not, I’m 32 years old and never saw the guy coach a game. The only thing I know about him is the things I’ve read and watched. With that said, it is shitty to vote 12-3 to put his name on the court and then turn around a year later and revote to make it the Brown Gunter Court or whatever, when that was already voted down.

Can they not just have it be Sue Gunter court during women's games and Dale Brown court during men's games and keep everyone happy?

If that luncheon story is true, and I am not doubting it, just curious why Temple is going against Brown / supporting Gunter? If anyone did anything for black athletes at LSU, it was Brown. And this not pimping for him. Just in comparing the 2 coaches, it seems to be....black & white who did what the most. JBE & Tate, their positions are quite obvious. Does the fact that JBE appointed most of the BOS make this a done deal?
