I understand that Sue Gunter was a very nice person. However, she was a journeyman coach
As stated previously, only one of them is in the Naismith HOF.

We should not be honoring longevity.
We'd be doing that with either one. Dale's tenure was a great 8 year stretch then all downhill after '87. After that it was wasting talent or running into a ditch for the next decade.

The Brown criticisms while they may be valid, are pointless.
No because they set the bar incredibly low when they named it after him. It’s hard to argue that he wildly deserves it more than Sue does.

Interesting power struggle playing out here. Moscona just spent an hour stumping for Dale.

Dale Brown was an arrogant prick about it and would not listen to any of the people telling him to tone it down. Instead, he made it about him and just acted like a bigger jackass and got LSU basketball destroyed as a result
Dale Brown ultimately did as much to destroy the LSU MBB program as he did to build it.

Don’t know but Pokey Chatman led the women to 3 consecutive Final Fours. Easily the most successful basketball coach of the 3.

Naming the court and the building separately is the dumbest shite ever same goes for Skip Bertman Field

I partially agree with this. I wasn’t for naming the court after Dale but I’m ok with it for the way he raised interest in lsu hoops and also his off the court humanitarian stuff .
Gunter is being mentioned in the same conversation as dale for one reason-she’s female. That’s a joke and typical of this clown world era we live in. It’s disrespectful to dale and it lowers the bar incredibly.

I very much dislike Dale Brown discussion we've had on this board recently, including this.
I've said before I am very conflicted on the good versus the bad.
I neither want to champion him or throw him into a fire.

They have similar resumes

Call it what you want. He got him here.
I see how you went to google and confirmed what I stated. If you think Macklin leaves LVille for LSU any other way, you’re living in fantasy land.

How does it lower the bar anymore than it already was lowered by naming the court after dale?

The whole thing should be named after Shaq instead.
Or better yet, quit naming stuff after folks. Just win.

Only lsu could turn this into drama
And the governor getting involved is ridiculous
Thankfully edwards is almost done as governor

I guess you think no on else was paying for players, right?
It really doesn't bother me too much that he was cheating like everyone else. But everyone else wasn't going all Hugh Freeze-like in daring the NCAA to do something about it. Brown was a sanctimonious fool very much in the style of Freeze.

Tark was but Tark won a title too. LSU beat that team in late January then lost in the 2nd rd of the tourney.

I already covered that. I agree naming it after Dale lowered the bar. He never won a championship but he did a great job promoting Lsu basketball. And was known for charitable acts off the court. He built the program and did a lot for LSu and the community so I get it.
Gunter did neither. That lowers the bar more. Especially since the current womens coach is far better. This is only being talked about because Commie Tate and the woke warriors want “equality” by adding a female name to the court, and to get that you have to lower the bar.
