I can compromise
24 team playoff for no conference championship games and the playoffs starting no later than the 2nd Saturday in December with the next round played the next Saturday.
Conf. champ games are pointless and two weeks between rounds with the champ game the last Monday in January is absolute lunacy.
But it will not work out that way im sure.

I loved when the national championships were mythical. The ambiguity made it interesting. I cared about the bowl games.
I stopped caring about the NFL years ago. I still follow the Saints but I won’t even casually watch any other NFL games to include playoffs and Superbowl, I just don’t care anymore. College ball is rapidly driving down that same road.

I'm kind of ok with this.

> Helps good teams whose year was sidelined by injuries.
The downside is that it really reduces the magic of the regular season. Ultimate expression of this was the BCS era, where every game mattered. Now you can lose 3-4 games and get in.

Agree. The lsu Florida game in 07 was when I really started to love college football. It was a national game in early October and you knew losing had huge consequences. In a 24 team playoff it really loses its importance because you can lose many more games and still get in

well we can shitcan the SECCG now. served a purpose helping us during BCS days.....now not worth it. we will now have more playoff games than the NFL. we are at NFL levels now having to win 3 or 4 to win it all.
we also need to shorten the regular season back to 11 games?
who the frick is gonna play a 12 game season. SECCG. 13....then 4 playoff games? that is a NFL schedule. 17 games.
this is a joke. they can go back to crowning the SEC champ based on record in the standings. like in the 80s.
