I personally like it depending on the format. There are over 130 teams in the FBS, and less than 10% get a chance to win the championship. There have been years where the best teams at the end of the year don’t have the record to get in because of a bad start. In 2001, LSU won the sec and was playing as good as anyone in the country. Who knows what might have happened. I know that winning the sec guarantees a spot but it didn’t then and maybe another team will that maybe should. Texas and ND were both left out last year, they both had teams that could have competed with those that got in.

I’m so sick and disinterested in bowl games now. They are poorly attended and the player participation is terrible.

To make it all mesh, the calendar needs to be changed. The signing date should be at least a week after the championship game. There should be designated OTA dates after the season, this gives everyone a chance to replace the bowl practices. If you make the playoffs, maybe you get less days than those that didn’t.

Hiring coaches should be done after all games are played.

The transfer portal should also open after all games are played.
Lots of things to clean up.
