Well Russia has a few other things to worry about right now. Iran has been attacking Isreal for 50 years through hamas and hezballah. Turkey, well the ottoman wanna be is a wildcard ill give you that one.

That also means they have no ethinic allies to help the fanatics. You allow the gulf states, SA, Quatar, Bahrain, Jordan such forth to handle that end of it. Will it be a gov like ours? Doubtful will it be one that allows Iran to go back to one of the highest standard of living and richest countries in the world that doesnt fund proxy terrorists throughout the region.

Those countries have a bigger reason to want a stable western friendly Iran than even the US does.

The difference being Iraq, Libya, such forth have an entire populace that have zero interest in a western style of life. Iran still has people alive that remember what life was like in a capitalist western style government.

So yeah there is a much better chance this works. Also most of the protests against the regime have come from colleges and younger Iranians. The ones that saw picutres and heard stories about life before the mullahs. That is a good sign. The ones on the internet and see the rest of the world and realize living under the rule of goat humpers isnt the best way to live life.
