Dude, it's 50k to become a member of the Cook for the privilege of being able to get a room you still have to pay for.

They're all owned by Indians and they're all friends with each other. They know what everybody else charges.

Fyi also, If you book out, they will call you the day of and if you don't answer or checkin, they will cancel your room and give it away at what Im guessing is a higher rate. Have had this happen twice while i didn't have service in the game.

No issue with it as most traveling fans are probably opposing fans. We pay exorbitant prices to go to other SEC cities.

I do know that they have rooms for Saturday night, but can't get into the rooms until after the game.

My neighbors wont be able to go this weekend, but I kept the suite they have their name on and it's still $399 per night, plus about $100 of taxes and fees (city, state).

It’s all about the money, Big money grab. It’s not just Baton Rouge, it’s everywhere. Imagine playoff ticket prices to add to the madness. And then take a look at what hotel rates will be then.

I’m not a member and they regularly send me emails asking if I want a room
I am a member or The Oaks though, at the lowest level 5k a year for 5 years.
Really helped my priority points. Went from being ranked over 8000 to 1750 in just a few years. Makes it easy to get away tickets and some other perks

Supply and demand my friend. If we sucked, prices would be cheaper. I’ll take the wins and higher hotel costs.

I'd be looking at campgrounds and pitching a tent in this decent weather. Maybe even get some fishing in before breaking for the game, but thats just me.

This shocks you?

You think all the Middle Easterners, Indians and Sub Saharan Africans that own those Hotels and Motels give a rats arse about LSU football or its fans?

So True. I was only staying Saturday until the game time change. With tax, the 2 nights are $1900 and I believe to park is extra. Maybe I am cheap but this is the most I have seen in history of traveling back for games to stay downtown.

Literally has nothing to do with anything.

It's a bunch of foreigners who own these things. They love gouging American citizens every chance they get.

You don’t wanna know what the AC in Auburn was charging per night.

Pretty nice to park the truck on Friday and not get back in it til Sunday though.

My advice as a part time travel agent…

Book next year’s games hotels now for every weekend of football season (or as much as you can. I believe most hotels open up bookings 330 days in advance). Just don’t do a non-refundable rate. Most hotels don’t make you pay until you arrive anyway. Check the price every once in a while and if it goes down, cancel and rebook. And then once the schedule comes out cancel the away games and the other ones you won’t be coming to.

Quit going.

I was a lifetime, generational fan. My great grandfather graduated from LSU, taught at LSU, most of my family went there. I went there. Had season tickets forever.

I barely even watch on TV anymore. It's minor league football now.

Crude oil prices are driving up bedding and under cooked cheese omelet costs!

I’m in the same boat. I’ve had season tickets for a long time even after moving to Houston.

Now I just give the tickets away because I’d rather watch the game at home. Every game I know to just earmark $2k for hotels, food, etc.

I used to keep the tickers for customers that are lsu alums but they don’t even want to go.

The pre and post game experience is more of a pain than fun. Couple that with the influx of fatiguers on campus… yeah, I’m good not pissing $2k and a weekend away for a 3-4 hour football game.
