I planned ahead early and booked all of my room for Clemson, Aggy, Alabama, and even potential home playoff game with my company’s corporate code at $120/night

I bet I was going longer than you and I didn't have any trouble ripping it off.

Got tired of the entire production. Been There......Done That.

LSU football became an NFL game and annoying/irritating Rap Crap Concert that I was not willing to tolerate.

Having many other interests made it easy too. A lot more things to do and enjoy in East Central Florida.

I'm "One of Us" that's not really "One of Us" outside of loving LSU and loving Louisiana food.

Me and Mrs.Semjase much prefer our existence over here.

Find a town on your route back home with normal rates and grab a hotel
We’ve stayed in Hammond many times after games

This is not a new phenomenon. It happens everywhere for every single major event.

I’ve got one for you. Have a friend that gets regular rates no matter what through his job. It works worldwide through certain hotels no matter what’s going on in the area. I went to book 3 rooms and it was $6500 for 2 nights, 3 rooms. No lie. So had him get the same rooms for less than $800. 3 king rooms, 2 nights. Unreal. So yes, the hotels are going in dry because our dumbasses keep paying it.

Our bill for Alabama will be $1,077.

Just about every SEC host city has been doing this for years. While staying close to the action is certainly convenient, there's also something to be said for keeping your wallet happy! Sometimes, staying within an hour's drive of the stadium can save you a small fortune.

Price gouging is charging $10 for a bottle of water after a hurricane

Charging $1000 for a luxury (a hotel room so you can go to a football game) isnt gouging

We'll be at Tiger's Trail this weekend with the RV.

First time, so hopefully it's a nice place. Looks nice. Way cheaper than two hotel rooms.

Friend of mine stayed there for Clemson game. He thought it was great.

yup. i stayed in red stick just a few weeks back for travel ball. zero gouging. regular rates as always. we go all over the country and it is always regular rates. praise jesus these towns/cities do not care or track these tourneys because if they did we would be in deep shite. we have even been in smaller towns where demand was greater than supply and still no increase.

however they definitely track football games. last time i stayed in red stick for a lsu game was 2003. after that we always drove. rates were fine then also. not sure when they started jacking up rates for college football.

we always went to atlanta for the seccg and NOLA for natties/bowl games and rates were never that crazy either. we went to all SECCG other than 2022. did this crap just get bad post covid? for sports games?

Dude, I didn't say it was free. I am a hotel donor and it was the best decision that I made. I don't have to worry about hotel reservations every weekend and I can walk to the game or take their free shuttle. I realize it is expensive and not for everyone, but if you support LSU with contributions, it is an alternative.

This is not new. Events cause rates to go up. Any event, everywhere in the world.

Watermark is currently $2,500/night for the Texas game. It came down after they dropped a few games. It was over $3,000.
