I alsi coached football & head girls basketball, while head softball coach from 1987-1995 in Louisiana,. Coached softball only in Texas until 2012 when I became a principal. Retired from public schools in 2017 & coached softball in private schools until 2023.
I'm probably older than you. Lol

Only asked because I've coached HS softball in both Louisiana and Texas and I know so many coaches. I was wondering if I knew you or not... guess I don't lol

I agree with this, especially the part that the players play hard, sometimes .maybe too hard which may cause mistakes that they normally don't make. I've had teams do that during my career and it was a lot of work by the coaches to get that confidence and swagger back. Confidence is such a huge factor and momentum as well.
I liked a lot of things that I saw at the games I got to go see on our Texas Two Step, but I felt (and probably the players/coaches too) that when are we going to make a mistake. I drove over on Sunday and I saw a team that looked very hungry after that curb stomping on Saturday. Sometimes a dose of reality can jump start a team to play a little looser, with a nothing to lose attitude.
We are going to be in the NCAA tournament and I was always of the mindset that I didn't care if I have to go on the road in the playoffs. (I always enjoyed ending a team's season on their home field.) So we don't have anything to lose, so why not play that way and I saw that Sunday and especially last night...
Now we need to take that momentum to Fayetteville this weekend and it will all be better.

Just got back home in Houston area from both baseball and softball. Both were awesome & softball played really well. It was well worth me making the drive both ways today..
Funny thing of the softball game... Chris Guillot shows up right in fron of us in the 4th or 5th and started with the cheers like at baseball. The fans were loud as he led the cheers because it wasn't loud the entire game. The self proclaimed super fan with the wraslin belt did cheer with him and buried his head in his phone. Guess since he wasn't the point of attention, he got quiet.

Awesome day. Watching baseball and softball playing so well was worth the trip from Houston and going home tonight. Take care Tigers!

Chris Guillot has showed up and has taken over the cheers and the crowd has yelled the loudest in a long time... old wrastlim belt dude didn't even join. Made it worth the trip from Houston today for baseball and softball.

At Astros games, they don't go back into the dugout until the flag is off of the field (when military members bring it out)

A fight broke out in the cruise terminal of Carnival Jubilee in Galveston, Texas, on Saturday morning as guests wrapped up a seven-night sailing.
Authorities report that the altercation occurred in the Customs and Border Protection area of Terminal 25, in the luggage collection zone, where passengers retrieve their bags before leaving the facility.
The 24 passengers involved were put on the Carnival’s DO NOT SAIL list and handed over to law enforcement.
A Carnival spokesperson told local media, “We will not tolerate such behavior. These individuals can seek other cruise lines, but they are not welcome on our ships.
One passenger debarking Carnival Jubilee in Galveston said the back-and-forth reportedly started the day before on the basketball court and carried over to the morning.
The disturbance comes just a week after an elevator fight aboard Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas, where an 18-year-old passenger was arrested on a felony assault charge after an altercation involving a group of young guests jumping in the elevator.
Last summer, a brawl aboard Carnival Paradise went viral after passengers threw chairs and fists in a late-night lido buffet scuffle.
A travel agent commented to Cruise Radio, “Unfortunately, bad apples are everywhere. As we have seen over the past few weeks, this is not isolated to only one cruise line.”
Carnival Cruise Line has stated that it does not tolerate disruptive behavior onboard.
Authorities have not confirmed whether any arrests were made.
Cruise lines make passengers aware of their codes of conduct, and potential penalties for guests who cause disturbances include fines, bans, being kicked off the ship, and legal action.

Everyone in the infield has to.

When's the last time you've watched a girls fastpitch softball game?
I see many corner infielder wear masks and there's a good chance that they will be required to wear a mask in the near future. I had several, especially in the last 10 years, corner infielders wear a mask on my high school teams. My corners play in front of the base and are moving forward on the pitch, especially when we know the batter is bunting or slapping. Some of the slappers are so good now that they generate as much power moving forward as they do staying set (power slappers).

Softball pitchers throw from a distance of 45 feet
Women's fastpitch softball rubber is 43 feet from home plate. By the time the pitcher releases the ball, she is usually between 35-43
feet from home.
Before 2010, the pitching distance used to be 40 feet.

You should get to know more teachers.... I'm a Republican and as a principal, I won't hire someone like that
I told my staff before I retired that our jobs are to teach our students HOW to think, not WHAT to think. I told several they should go look for another school where they could teach students what to think because they role would be greatly reduced at my school.
