I left Houston 9 days ago for vacation and when I wake up I check the scores... actually a couple of times, I woke up at 5am to check out and move to next city and we were still playing.

It's so bad that I turned off 790am post game show.

I was an intern in the SID office back then and worked with all of the LSU head coaches. Skip and Dale wanted the same things and were willing to promote their programs above and beyond what was normal back then.

I liked going to see both of them, but Dale was I want this and you will do this and see ya. Skip was lets work together to get the best outcome and would make you want to be the best.

One day, Skip asked me where I was from and family. I told him that actually my father who loved baseball was in town and Skip said to bring him early for the game that night and he wanted to meet him. We got there at 430 and he visited with my dad for almost 30 minutes. That's when my dad, who didn't graduate from HS since he was a farmer back in the 30s, started wearing LSU stuff and took an interest in my school other than how I was doing.

One thing I admired about Dale was his motivational speaking. He could talk a snail into dunking a basketball, but his coaching was about the same as if a toddler was the coach.

Its so awesome that we put a pinch hitter in the game who was hitting 175 in AAA at the biggest moment. What Joe Expedia think was going to happen?
