I don't particularly like the guy but I bet you the athletic department and TAF is richer than it has ever been.

He must have pissed the wrong person off if he is being run off.

Well Alleva has done a great job at putting LSU in a bad light. Love or hate Coach O there is no reason to hire the most important coach at the school like that.

well at the time that was ridiculous money.
Not really.

He still would have been paid about the same as Bobby Bowden of Florida State, Steve Spurrier of Florida and Phillip Fulmer of Tennessee.

And actually LSU would have been paying only $250,000 of his compensation package. The rest would have come from doing radio & TV shows.

When an AD is stupid enough to derail a post season his a$$ needs to go.

Has bettered LSU, you mean the no titles in football, t&f, wbb, etc.

I could sell LSU baseball

And let us not forget his Duke CLUSTERFACK

Alleva didn't put in place most of the coaches we have, and he isn't really even the one who found Wade. From what I understand, that was Eddie Nunez.

You can MAYBE give him credit for the Beth Torina hire. Only after his first choice backed out.

He inherited a gold mine. Alleva is not responsible for our success. But he gave numerous raises to Miles, while his teams slowly faded into mediocrity. He inherited a women's basketball program that was in the midst of a 5 year final four run, and managed to all but run it completely into the ground. He's had three different coaches in men's basketball, and he and Alexander nearly ran off the one good coach we've had.

Football down 14-7 in a game: FIRE COACH O OUR TEAM SUCKS!

Win the same game 28-7: THE TEAM WON IN SPITE OF COACH O WE’RE AWESOME

Tell me how they could be down 14-7 in a game and then win that SAME game 28-7?

The only gripe is Alleva shouldn’t have had the NCAA present initially.

That wasn't Alleva, we have an autonomous compliance department. But if that is your only or even primary gripe I have one question, do you even pay attention to anything other than W-L?

This past incident is a glaring example of his biggest weakness. His complete inability to control the narrative and guide public perception.

At every turn, even when LSU is in the right, Joe has managed to let others control/guide the media in their presentation, usually waiting too long to speak then making anemic attempts at defense of LSU's position. Often in a condescending manner and other times seemingly flustered that he is in the position he is in. Misstep followed by misstep.

Yes, but...
He is a tool and puppet who was the problem with hiring Orgeron. He is responsible for that shite.

We have 1 golf championship. LSU has done better than Ole Miss, Mizzou and Miss state under Allevas watch.

Vandy has won more championships than LSU.

Take your loss and go home.

While there is some truth to this, I don't think the next AD will have the same issues.

Based on what I have read, it looks like the BOS have backed F King into a corner and basically told him to keep his nose out of athletics or he's next on the chopping block.

All of those coaches had NCs at the time. We paid him top 5 money coming off a terrible decade of football. It was a big deal and LSU was scoffed at by many.

I agree JA is not the primary problem. However Ja is a big problem JA does need to go. Firing JA while leaving FK in place is just pissing in the wind.

I don’t think anyone will deny that Alleva did good things for the University, however, our athletic program was not living up to it’s potential. Coaches were rewarded for mediocrity, there was PR nightmare after PR nightmare. Joe allowed the university & athletic program to be cast in a negative light way too often. Tiger stadium & The box look like coupon catalogs with all of the ads covering them. Most importantly, we’ve seen our peers in the SEC experience success in all sports while we trudge along in the middle and sometimes lower tier. It’s time for change.

Joe, I still want to know what happened at Duke. Did you ever apologize to the young men whose lives you ruined?
