I bet someone there panicked and accidentally divulged that the company is being run like a frat house. I saw this coming from a mile away when they started good good women or whatever. My boys have this stuff on all the time. The head good good guy is banging the head girl. Just a bunch of horny kids riding the wave until it crashes down.

golf is an elitist game, played by rich people who have kids they spoil so they can have private instructors and play golf, etc, repeat. The big golf brands are no different. They don't want competition. They all see an opportunity to shite on someone they see as a threat and they're jumping on it. And you have useful idiots like lsupride who will cheer them on.
And we have useful idiots like hashtag that just won’t allow any sport to not become #yolo
Maybe we don’t need golf to become upside down hats, mashed potatoes, and whatever the frick this is
You don’t have to be rich or an elitist to respect the game. Golf doesn’t need to change, we don’t “need to grow the game” if that means changing the game to allow idiots and adhd riddled morons to play it

Pretty obvious Calloway was realizing Good Good and YT world in general is a house of cards and run by morons and children

A football spoof. Football is about tackling
He tackles everyone . Same as the Betty white commercial circulating by YT bros
It’s a bad comparison and idiots can’t figure that out
The reaction to this video is over the top, but pushing someone over and threatening them isn’t golf at all. It’s not a golf spoof and nothing to do with golf
Even as woke as today is, I bet you will have a hard time finding commercials ever where a man pushes a woman over and stands over her threatening her as a way to try and sell product

The thing is, I really don’t see many people bent out of shape
It’s mainly people just saying GG is a bunch of dweebs and frick em. But yes, if you pretend to actually be offended by the commercial you are fake as hell as well. As fake as GG

Am I the only one who had never heard of Good Good until this happened? Then again, the YT golf channels I watch are the ones that do things like cover rules situations, not highlight frat boy behavior on the golf course.

Obviously football and golf are two different worlds, but it feels a little ridiculous to me that GG loses all their sponsorship deals, the ability to host a PGA Tour event, and the Big Break is delayed a full year, when a football player actually hitting a woman is often a 1 or 2 game suspension.

Same reason why a walk on with an MIP gets kicked off the team while a 5 star with a DUI and domestic abuse gets a slap on the wrist
They wanted out. This was an easy way out where they can also virtue signal at the same time while getting out. 2 birds one stone
Look at LIV. They had the “content king” in Bryson and the father of YouTube gold with Rick shiels. It didn’t help. At all
The YouTube world isn’t real. It’s unicorn farts that is on its own planet. It doesn’t help the corporate world or big box companies. The crossover doesn’t work
This is a positive for golf. Is this how I wanted it to happen? No, I’m not fan of ridiculous virtue signaling, but hey, we weren’t fans of Russians either but needed them to defeat Hitler.
Same parallel.

I think you're right about this.
My guess is that the PGA Tour or Golf Channel or both, after having to work with these guys over the last several months, decided that they didn't want to be involved with them, so when GG provided this opportunity to exit, they took it full speed ahead. This is cheaper than just breaking contracts.

Correct. I think the Tour and others freaked out when they saw the explosion of YT golf, and believed the hype it would take over and make “real golf obsolete” so they bought in
But it just didn’t happen. When good golf actually goes to golf tournaments or host a real golf events it’s a turd. Nobody goes. It doesn’t actually produce anything

I totally get it from a callaway perspective. I’m sure they are paying them way more than they want to. The stores all pulling their clothes doesn’t make as much sense to me outside of virtue signaling.

We are on the same page with YT golf, it's the worst. But I just don't see this at all. They were literally EXANDING their line with Good Good by quite a bit right up until this fallout.
Stores were giving Good Good huge shelf and website space. You could walk into a Dicks or Golf Galaxy and see zero Callaway apparel and a whole section of Good Good stuff.
Bringing back big Break and branding it with Good Good. As well as a multi year sponsored PGA Tour event.
And obviously a huge thing is even giving them hardware branding with the Quantum drivers which is super rare for any manufacturer. Hardware being the biggest profit margins so they were seeing value adding them to hardware.
And add to the fact that Good Good was Callaway's biggest bridge to the younger generation.
Absolutely none of that figures in they were looking for an out. Good Good is out but that isn't a positive for Callaway. it's destroying their brand at the moment too. Callaway isn't going to purposefully sabotage themselves to get away from a company they were doing more and more with. And if they were looking for an out they would have immediately dropped them not waited until the backlash got so extreme and tons of pressure were put on them.
Callaway saw this outrage effecting bottom line and this was purely a reputation salvaging move.

The bottom line is that someone ordered a Code Red. That ad was just not offensive enough to garner this kind of negativity, yet it has.
The only ones with the motive and the means are a large outfit with the connections all through media to make it happen and had a reason to want them gone: either the Tour or Golf Channel.
In other words, Col. Jessup ordered the Code Red.

To a normal person, the add isn't offensive enough. But social media outrage isn't normal. After the add the next day I saw a post of a woman saying her husband was returning his Callaway clubs. I thought that's dumb, let me click on the comments to see people roasting her husband for being a puss. Nope, it was like 500 comments of people cheering them on and said they were doing the same. Since then half my algorithm is Callaway/Good Good outrage that got worse by the day.

Neither of those started or kept the social media fire going. They simply responded to it. Hell after the Good Good's 2nd apology I think I read an article with the PGA Tour responding that they weren't too impressed with Good Good's apology but they were encouraged since then. The tone was very much "Yea they F'd up but it'll be alright."
Target and Dicks cancelling them is not surprising. Target is like the trans lingerie store and Dicks stopped selling AR's after a school shooting and then removed guns completely out of their stores. Those companies getting behind this outrage is not surprising. But once big brands like that start dropping Good Good to set an example then it forces the PGA Tours hand. They were clearly going to stick with them if the storm died down but it didn't, so everyone is crashing out on them now. Even The Golf Channel initially just postponed The Big Break a week to remove Golf Galaxy/Dicks from the show. The outrage got worse, and they cancelled the whole season.
If a code red was called then the PGA Tour or The Golf Channel would have been the first to drop them.

I don’t see how the fact that they were spoofing Obsession is an argument in their favor.
If anything, the fact that a brand that mostly caters to kids is spoofing an R-rated horror film with extreme adult themes is almost even dumber than the whole shoving stuff
