I was being serious earlier, what is funny about it? I'm not offended by it in the least, it just doesn't make any sense. If it had been a man that Garrett trucked, I'd still have the same questions.

They’re delaying the big break to pull a sponsor over this? Holy overreaction Batman.
Golf Galaxy dropped them. Looks like Dicks Sporting Goods did as well. Agree it’s a massive overreaction but what is even worse is not one single person from GG or Callaway had the brains to see this reaction to the ad being possible.

I don't think it was very funny but everyone getting their panties in a wad needs to relax.

Okay that makes sense then. Looks like they removed GG apparel from their online stores too.

they make probably most of their money from their apparel line. They are sponsoring a Tour event. They're sponsored by Callaway and used in their marketing. They have a ton of employees, a CEO, a massive headquarters, etc. They're not a small youtube operation at all anymore. They make a lot of money.
As to the thread, it's wild how much this ad has affected them. They have a "Big break" event that has been delayed due to production having to remove one of their sponsors from being in the content. I've also seen reports of their apparel being removed from Golf galaxy and Dicks locations. For something that seemed so dumb, they actually seem to be having some pretty significant blowback that will have financial consequences that aren't small.
I'm not exactly in Good Good's target demographic (I'm in my 40s), but this whole thing seems ridiculous.

Maybe I’m just too old to understand but YouTube golfers are an incredibly stupid concept to me. This just further drives home that point.
Posted on 8/26/26 at 7:01 am to lsuhunt555
At the end of the day, stupid actions have consequences. It’s easy to blow off overreaction as some kind of cuck/sigma/woke/libtard theme but the reality is we are dealing with a lot of money. If I’m Calloway and I’m working with these morons who made this ad, I’m pissed off I have to deal with all this crap.
So, YouTube golf is dumb as crap. Total agreement.
(Anyone have good YouTube video they can recommend that will help my 5-7 iron good swing? I’m having a hard time getting height with those clubs )

I think most importantly what it shows to Calloway and Dicks etc is these guys are jut complete amateur idiots in a make believe bubble world and can’t really be trusted in real business
This video wasn’t that egregious, but it just shows they have no real brains and they are one video away from possibly crushing your brand

Their viewership numbers say otherwise. You personally may not care for YouTube golf but their following is massive now, so clearly the concept isn’t dumb. It’s a very lucrative and successful concept

As a father to a 13 year old that will watch people play video games, I get it. Still think it's stupid to watch someone on YouTube play golf. It's just not something that I care for.

When do we get cheap Callys?

I feel like sometimes people just try too hard. This ad as mentioned by many others is just terrible. The fact that it passed through so many people before being ran is insane.
Its almost like they tried intentionally to make a horrible ad to get people to talk about it.

I think you'd find something you like. It's not all just 20 something kids playing events against each other. There are lots of options where you are watching an amateur play golf, but it is wrapped around something else very interesting. Just off the top of my head:
- Golf traveling
- Golf architecture
- Professional event previews
- Golf improvement where the golfer is talking through strategy
Yeah, you are not going to see the same level of golf as on tour, but people watch on Youtube for other things than just watching the best golf possible. Hell, I watch Not A Scratch Golfer (although he hasn't posted in a long time). The guy is like a 5-8 handicap and hits his drives about 220 yards, but he does a great job of talking through his rounds and explaining his strategy. It's useful for my own game seeing a guy who hits it way shorter than me score pretty well with a game that only really excels on the green.

This is one of the dumbest outrages/boycotts ever.
1. The video is legit retarded even outside of trucking a girl. Possibly the worst add ever and it doesn't even make sense. Half the people that watch it watch it and go "Wtf is that even supposed to mean?"
2. They obviously should have known that this was going to get edited into a 3 second clip of just the guy trucking the girl.
3. The overreaction by the public and sponsors might be the worst part. Algorithm now is videos of people boycotting Callaway because of domestic violence. Literally have videos of women saying their husbands called Callaway asking for a refund on their clubs because they don't want to support a company that supports domestic violence. And you can't comment "charmin soft" or "your husband is a pussy" because then you are supporting domestic violence
Such a dumb world we live in.
